With them it was stiff, it was counters after counters, it was good-looking submissions and boy, oh boy - it ruled. Good booking and a good ending too, but I really wish the crowd had been more vocal than that, but still a blast." |

I really liked the dynamic, the action was simple & effective with lots of energy and good work from everyone, MCMG were great as always. I'd like to emphasize just how different all their matches are from one another: you can go and watch the Unbreakable three-way and then come and watch this one, and you'll see that they're not at all the same, that the three guys have evolved even further and that they're now in the world title scene as they deserve to be. They've also had other outstandings three-ways apart from the two and they all bring different material to the table, I love that. 3236 | 11.04.2024 14:51 | BlackVikingGZ wrote about AJ Styles vs. Raven: [8.0] "The match itself was pretty good, but I agree with other inmates that the overbooking and constant interferences harm the encounter. Raven is the best babyface of the company, he is really over with the crowd. I don't think any other wrestler has reached his level so far. So the match felt big and the crowd was really into it. The match starts with AJ being cocky, but soon meets Raven's fist, the ring steps and a trash can. Then he hits a lot of russian side leg sweeps on a guardrail. Then AJ gets the upperhand with his springboard reverse DDT after a low blow. The Gathering takes out Russo. Then AJ works on Raven with a death lock and some superkicks, but Raven gets momentum after throwing a chair into AJ when he was doing a springboard. Then he did his usual comeback and hits the Styles Clash on AJ. He was about to win, but Sinn pull out the referee. Then AJ hit the DDT, bur Raven kicks out at two. Then Raven hit a DDT of his own, but the ref was knocked down. Slash interferes, but Raven kicks powder into his face and he hits the Slash and Burn on AJ. Then Raven tries a Raven Effect from the top rope, but Shane Douglas throws him. Then gets low blowed and AJ hits the Styles Clash to win the match. Maybe there was too much interference, but the match was pretty good and there were some cool nearfalls." |

The story is on point with Nigel having an answer for everything Angle does, the wrestling is obviously on point with a bunch of incredible sequences & sick counters and the crowd was on fire for everything they were doing even before the bell rang. An off-the-charts atmosphere for a special match, which was absolutely perfect in every detail. Nigel was so underrated, fantastic beast match." |

At the time, everyone who cared already knew that these guys were great and this match is a great showcase of that fact. The match itself had a simple structure which gave all four wrestlers a chance to get good reactions and they all succeeded. It was one of the most amazing stories in wrestling. The man who was a jobber 10 years ago has now won two battle royals and taken the major championship from the man who held it for 1316 in the main event of Wrestlemania Anniversary. Nakajima starting the match off with a punt to the head was absolutely awesome and played into the finish later on. They slowed it down too much during Nakajima's control period but once the strikes started coming out I was hooked. Nakajima's offense is just disgusting and Taniguchi sold everything well and made decent comebacks. Taniguchi would get the better of Nakajima in one exchange and then punted him in the head 3 times before hitting a frog splash for a great nearfall. One last punt kick and we got an upset victory. ***1/2" |

Marufuji's work on Nakajima's arm was decent but not the story I would've went for here. Once they started exchanges stiff strikes, kicks and bombs it got compelling quick. Two world-class wrestlers put on a rock solid good match but we all know they could do a lot better. ***1/2" |
3272 | 11.04.2024 13:51 | TSwifty wrote about Katsuhiko Nakajima vs. Kenou: [6.0] "Their weakest match together. There was a lack of variety in the strikes here. It was a kick spam match and while I love these two and I love kicks there just wasn't enough energy in this one. It's still a good match because the technique is great and it's not poorly wrestled or anything. Just a bit dull. ***1/4" |
3273 | 11.04.2024 13:50 | TSwifty wrote about Katsuhiko Nakajima vs. Kenou: [7.0] "A very good kick-vs-kick match but it was a standard NOAH main event at the end of the day. Very slow paced at times and no crowd energy. Nakajima was a beast with his offense and the big individual spots were great. Kenoh was 'alright' for most of this but his performance in the final minutes was really good. The KO was an apt finish. ***1/2" |

3275 | 11.04.2024 13:46 | [6.0] "The Fantastics and their opponents deliver a fun tag team match. Yes, the commentary is strange, but the in-ring action is solid. All four wrestlers showcase their skills, keeping the crowd engaged. The finish might be disappointing, but the overall match is an enjoyable display of tag team wrestling. 3 stars." |
3276 | 11.04.2024 13:41 | HollyHardcore wrote about Chris Adams vs. Kerry von Erich: [7.0] "An exciting upset victory for Chris Adams. Kerry von Erich puts on a selling clinic throughout the match, and is especially good in selling the rapid finish. The devious finish, features Gary Hart's interference and a double superkick by Adams. While the match is a bit shorter than I'd like, the action is nonstop and the conclusion is both shocking and well-executed. 3.75 stars." |
3277 | 11.04.2024 13:40 | [8.0] "Seriously, this rivalry is great. I love the chemistry between AMW and Swinger and Diamond. The match starts with a brawl on the floor it was fun and set the crowd hot. After that the heels have the control of the match and begin to work on James Storm. After a while Chris Harris gets the hot tag and cleans house with some great moves, such as a spear, a full nelson slam. Then after a couple of good nearfalls, with a superkick by Storm and some low blows, they did an amazing tower of doom spot involving the four wrestlers. After that cool spot, Gilberti comes to the ring to help his guys. Gilberti grabs a chair and one of the title belts and gives the belt to Diamons. Storm kicks the belt into Diamond's face. I love how Gilberti told the ref about it and even pull him out of the ring. Then the ref goes away to return the belt to the commentary desk, but at that moment, Gilberti hits Harris with the chair and Swinger and Diamond hit the Problem Solver to win the tag team titles. Really good match. Gilberti did a great job and is far better as a manager than in his previous roles on TNA. The heel team is great and have good chemistry with AMW. This rivalry has been pretty enjoyable and I hope it continues a little bit more." |

Not that everyone else was trying to take it easy, but Sabu made it feel like this match meant everything for him. It is also the best match of both wrestlers' storied careers, which is saying a lot. It is a match of mythical proportions and reputation, and is likely to be discussed for decades to come. Fans were going nuts from the beginning, cleanly split between both wrestlers for its entire length. For the first time in WrestleMania history, there were fans that actually wanted to see someone end the Streak. That great atmosphere was complemented by intense, nail-biting drama created by two of the greatest wrestlers in WWE history. Whether it was the Taker's terrifying suicide dive, the submission gold transitions, perfectly-executed signature moves, or the constant kick-outs, this match was off the charts. Even the commentators, who are normally supposed to maintain an air of impartiality and professionalism, were cheering wildly. As Taker said in a recent interview, to him it's all about emotions being brought out through a match. Well not only did he have over 72, 000 screaming in unison, but he also made Jim Ross 'have an out-of-body experience'. Only these two bona fide legends could pull off such a phenomenal match and leave every person in the crowd with a memory that will last a lifetime." |

Anna Jay did not have to do a whole lot but she was capable when she needed to hit her spots and she is not an awful seller. The Stardom girl coming out to nothing was incredibly awkward. Id be surprised if 5% of that crowd watched the ROH show. I did and still didnt know who she was until they explained it." |

I guess, technically, Moriarty picked up a pin against Shibata? The Shibata voice text gimmick is already incredibly cringe. He's not a guy who needs to have some funny persona. He's a killer. Dont ruin it." |

Junta's scrapper cross bodys and low dropkicks make him look like a believable threat to Taniguchi, and the two even have some great back-and-forth chain wrestling at various points in the match. Taniguchi gets a wiiiicked chinlock stretch at one point that I thought looked really brutal, he -really- arched Miyawaki's back. In the end, Miyawaki survives a chokeslam and giant double axe-handle in rapid succession, but then succumbs to a half-n-half suplex in the end. I was somewhere between a 6 and a 7 here, but there's no .5's in Cagematch, so, heh. Might've bumped it up more if either wrestler had better strikes, or if the match just went on a bit longer. As it is, this feels like a prototype for a future program between the two, which I'd be down with seeing." |

Still, it was a good match between the two, just as it was expected. The beginning and middle parts were nothing special, but the finishing stretch was really intense and captivating. Nicely structured match overall, and limb work from Bayley contributed to it too. This is definitely better than WWE Women's World Title the night before, and overall one of the best matches from both days of Wrestlemania 40 for me." |

I think that Jerry Lynn and Michael Shane have good chemistry, doing some the same moves to each other on a fast paced and good level. Michael Shane adds something different to the X Division in his cocky heel persona, and it's cool to see it. Good character work on the promo before the match and here. On the other hand, I like Lynn's aggressiveness after getting low blowed by Shane. I really enjoy his aggressive edge. So if you combine that cocky heel with Lynn's abilities on the ring you have a good match. It was entertaining, fast paced and full of cool moves and counters. I'm invested on Lynn's feud with Callis, but it's a shame that this match ended thanks to an interference. Hopefully we'll see another encounter in the future. Michael looks strong beating Jerry Lynn." |

This was a very fun way to get Evans over with the NXT crowd but it wasnt ground breaking or extensively strong work." |
3292 | 11.04.2024 12:56 | [7.0] "This match was a little bit cleaner than the Stand and Deliver match a few days prior and the passing of the torch moment was done well as was the post match run-in. The guys essentially hit the same moves they did in their previous match but outside of a little hang up when Bron was on the top rope, the challengers had a much easier time dealing with the size of Corbin. Frazier and Axiom are really starting to feel like more of a tag team as opposed to two guys thrown together. The future of the tag division is the best thing going in NXT for my opinion." |

I think the match was cut just as it was starting to get particularly interesting so it's a shame they weren't given time to get through that second gear. But I still liked what I saw, a great chemistry between them and a good crowd." |

Cena is in the MOVEZ phase of his career and he busts out a load of moves you've rarely, if ever, seen him do before. I was never a big fan of Seth Rollins at this time but he is undeniably so impressive in this match. Incredible athleticism, timing and snap to everything he does. Morgan gave the performance of his life in a very well-worked encounter against the best wrestler in the company, and the two connected superbly together with a super-efficient dynamic. Angle attacking the leg was obviously very smart, and we got to see a bunch of damn interesting counters. I liked a lot of things about this match, and they never ever overdoing it." |

Foley didn't have that juice left in him, but he still did some good things, so I don't want to be negative about him. Some spots were cool but eh, something didn't click, the botched nearfall didn't help. Still a bit funny." |
