[7.0] "This was a fun match but it lost some of the emotional weight of the first one. I think it was hurt by the fact that there was no way that the Bucks weren't winning here."

[7.0] "This wasn't a classic like many of their later matches are, but they was both selling tough matches earlier in the show and it's a solid KOTR final that laid the groundwork for not only HHH's rise up the card to stardom, but also in solidifying Mankind as one of the most sympathetic babyfaces on the roster. It starts off a little bit slow, but it does pick up a lot especially when it spills out of the ring and you see some of the bumps Foley ends up taking, one of which a Pedigree on the annoncers table, then he's knocked off the ring apron and then Chyna shatters the KOTR scepter over his back. Up to this point Hunter was playing the arrogant villain and while he still does that here, he's a lot more deliberate with his attacks and picks his spots very well. Foley was selling the never give up attitude until he simply had nothing left after the Pedigree. With Hunters character at the time, you would have expected him to run arround with the crown, cape and scepter like most heel KOTR winners did, but instead he attacks Mankind with the crown!"

[8.0] "The methodical and cocky nature of Montero against the flashy and athletic Kuro certainly created some great sparkles. Superb mix of styles which incorporated a good storytelling. Kuro came with all the confidence of the world, while Montero took pleasure to be the biggest jerk possible. The vocal crowd helped to carry the fight's emotions. It was a bit overbooked for my taste at some moments, they could have played more on the drama aspect of the contest. Montero's methodical approach of wrestling is always a sweet to watch (even if the dude can take a bit too much time sometimes). Nonetheless, that stills an excellent showcase for Kuro. Sky is the limit for him."

[3.0] "It was a bad match. I don't understand why they're retiring the intercontinental title, because with Triple H's reign it's impossible for anyone to beat him for the world title. Up until the interference from Ric Flair and The Hurricane, the match was terrible and it took a long time as both wrestlers were very slow. The overbooking and interference improved the match a bit and towards the end they hit some decent spots and false finishes. However, this match was not worthy of being on a PPV. The only positive aspect is that Katie Vick's horrible storyline is finally over and this match represented what that storyline was, which is that it sucked."

[8.0] "This wasn't as explosive as against Trey Miguel, but Irie gave Aigle a hard time. He proved him that just one excursion in Japan makes it all, but Aigle answered him pretty well, as he showed great resilience and threw some big strikes. Big moves, a pair of near-falls (not always my cup of tea), Aigle Blanc knows his crowd, and Irie fitted well in there. A bang, that's a sure thing. Technical and powerful wrestling with some good athleticism put on by Aigle, offering a good contrast with Irie's pure power."

[5.0] "It was a good match. I think both wrestlers did well but they can do better than this. The ending wasn't very good as Jamie Noble only wins the match thanks to Nidia's help. I think a clean finish would have been better."

[6.0] "It's a real pity that it was the women's fight which was cut off. That started well. Céline is the lovable wrestler, while Ophélie is way better as being a vicious heel. She came to prove herself and gave no shit about the method. Both ladies did their best to put each other over, and the crowd reacted pretty well. When you know the story between Céline (and Niouks) against Suplex Republik, the finish had a meaning. I'm not sure if this is the better way to do that in a monthly show. Nonetheless, it was well executed."

[9.0] "Maybe my opinion on this is unpopular, but I thought this was phenomenal. The slower pace provided a nice contrast from the usual expectation people have of Will in AEW. Possibly my favorite of the three Ospreay matches so far as an officially signed AEW talent. The typical Will excesses were subverted, at least until the final minute where Shibata kicked out of the first Hidden Blade. I don't think anything that happened after that necessarily needed to be there, but it wasn't a long enough stretch to ruin what was to that point, a wonderful opener for me. Shibata being such a resilient character will pop me every single time. ****1/2"

[6.0] "Slightly disappointing match since we know what both these guys are capable of in the ring, had it been given more time and allowed Vinci to get more offence in it would've absolutely cooked, but because that didn't happen the match never got out of second gear. Regardless, overall good display given what they had to work with."

[8.0] "A great dual of styles, with obviously the lucha libre of Arez against the vicious and technical approach of Archer. Arez tried several times to surprise Archer, but the latter played things out thanks to his size. We felt a natural chemistry on the mat here, that was flawless, and they put on some pretty nice spots. Just two veterans who know their shit, and putting each other over and a blast of a wrestling fight."

Buck and Christianium were dominant as always, while Balzac and Le Brun are as good as ever at the spoilers. An explosive tag team mess, yeah. A pity that it lasted just only eight minutes."

[7.0] "Obviously a good match, but I didn't think this was as good as I was expecting it to be. This was vastly inferior to the Danielson and Shibata match from a few weeks ago and it was mainly down to Will and Shibata not having as great of chemistry as Dragon and Shibata had which lead to a few awkward moments and I also felt that towards the end there were far too many kickouts, including two very lame kickout at one spots which felt completely undeserved. No build up, just Shibata and Ospreay kicking out of eachother's moves at one because it's an Ospreay match and there needs to be a kickout at one at some point during the match. It worked during the Kenny match, it worked during the Takeshita match, but here it just felt super lame. It also felt like the crowd weren't all too into this either. I feel like Ospreay matches always reach that next level when the crowd are going wild and popping for everything but they weren't here, which took a bit away from this match honestly. While this match was undoubtedly still good, with some genuinely great bits of action throughout it, it does have quite a few issues that prevent me from rating it higher. ***3/4"

[9.0] "Updating this review almost a full year after I first saw this match. It was the first Stardom match I ever watched fully, and while I liked it, I didn't fully appreciate it. Stardom's style, while accessible, does take a handful of matches to get used to. You appreciate the length of this. 40+ minutes is Stardom just simply doesn't happen, and even some of the matches 20+ minutes don't keep this pace and consistent brutality. There's a bit of artificial space in the match to add some more time, but it doesn't matter to me. And it lacks in atmosphere, being in the middle of the pandemic. But god damn they nailed everything in their control. If you're having touble appreciating this, put it down and come back when you're in the right place to do so. You owe it to yourself. 4.5 Stars."

[7.0] "An interesting 3-Way. Salem had to win because it was the occasion to free himself from Tristan Archer, while LSG and Sombra gave no shit about that. They were just here to gain the victory and reclaim their pay. The outcome was a bit predictable, but at the end of the day, it was a good mix of styles. They did their best to put on an enjoyable fight with nice spots. And above all, it offered Salem a necessitated rebirth."

[5.0] "Yeah this wasn't for me. Obviously I preferred the Dragon/Shibata match but this one was just honestly bland. Which is weird cause usually either Ospreay can be carried or he can do the most atrocious shit I ever seen, I don't think I ever accused him of being boring however. Ospreay doing the weakest elbows you ever seen in your life followed by Shibata giving him one stiff one (Like whenever Minoru Suzuki has a vacation match in America) is like top five comedy honestly. What was the deal with Ospreay taking that kick to outside and sliding looking at his hands? was that supposed to be like how it's to be if this were a real combat sport? it just looked goofy. Also I don't care what anyone says about "Fighting Spirit", No Selling a Sleeper Suplex is fucking dumb. Very mediocre contest. **1/2"

[9.0] "Match of the night to this point and the best of Motor Citys matches in DPW to this point. Despite only having a few matches as a team, Jake Something and Mike Bailey work quite well together with a great power/speed dynamic to them. Motor City were a bit more villainous here which worked well with getting the crowd behind their opponents. Bailey has had strong matches with both of them and that was on display again here. Crowd reacted positively to the title change. 8.5-9"

[8.0] "To my complete lack of surprise... this was an excellent display from both Devlin and WALTER. Devlin's ability to make the irish crowd insatiably root for him combined with WALTER's insurmountable heelisms make for a dynamite of heart and passion and strength. It's quite a simple story, but the manner in which it's told -body language, facial expressions, etc etc- along with the stiff and crooked power moves make this a genuine COMPETITION to see who can outlast the other. I loved the finish too. WALTER always has one last trick up his sleeve. [4]"

[5.0] "[2.5*] This was just an okay match. It was decent, not good nor bad, just very normal. I was honestly expecting more of a match with Kenny but this episode was kind of cursed from the beginning anyways, lol. I do not love the Golden Jets as an act and Kenny should be doing bigger and better things."

[5.0] "[2.5*] To be fair, I expected way more of it. Shida is usually great and Abadon has always showed off at their appearances, but this one did not click enough. The gimmick match was kinda bad tho, nothing crazy but it did not help the match at all. I would have loved a bloodbath."

[5.0] "[2.5*] The second best match of the undercard. It was very fast paced and did a good job. Yoshioka is awesome, he deserved better from the company during his time here. He is a lot better than HAYATA in all aspects. This kid Terry Yaki has a bright future."

[5.0] "[2.5*] This was a methodical match. I am going to be honest: singles Jimmy Uso absolutely sucks. His brother is a thousand times better and he just can not keep it up with the bigger stars. He is not made for that role and he will never, ever be. LA Knight was great tho."

[8.0] "Good old fashioned hardcore match. Despite the fact that the momentum of the Cody-Nakamura feud had already faded by this point, the match was interesting to watch due to the bull rope rules. Matches with these rules are a huge rarity in WWE, and I'm very glad that Cody brought them back. Hopefully these will become some of Cody's signature matches and we will see more of them as they are part of Dusty's legacy that Cody is committed to keeping alive. ***3/4."

[4.0] "[2.25*] The worst match of the night in my opinion. The Rampage womens matches has been very good in almost every week so it is fine to have one below the level. Absolutely right winner with Abadon here and I look forward to see what they brings to Shida."

[5.0] "[2.5*] Star Ratings wise, this was the same as the Hungbucks v Hardys match. But this was actually a thousand times better and more useful for TV Wrestling. They showcased a legend, which received an awesome pop, while gave the submission win to their young talent Hook, which received a great reaction as well. Grades are not everything on this sport. The Hardys match sucked, this one was awesome, and both of them were 3*. This is great TV, that other one is not."

[5.0] "[2.5*] This was a pretty nothing match so I would like to understand why it even happened in the first place. If I can remember, The Hardys lost to the Bucks and they are on a losing streak. Brother Zay just lost a N.1 Contender Triple Threat match on Rampage. Why the hell they were the challengers? Stop with the overprotective booking. STOP WITH THIS SAFE LOSERS BULLSHIT."

[7.0] "Honestly, this match was much better than I expected it to be. I love all kinds of weird gimmicks in pro wrestling, so Lil Kraken is the reason I included this match. And he really wasn't bad. The vibe reminded me a bit of Ophidian from Osirian Portal. Quite an elastic guy who, with his movements, can weaken his opponents vigilance, and then deliver an unexpectedly sharp and powerful blow. It is worth noting that Kraken and Akira acted quite harmoniously and they had good team combinations for wrestlers who have nothing in common and who are teaming with each other for the first time. I would also like to mention Trans Am Hiroshi. This guy may not have the same bright and eye-catching appearance as Lil Kraken, but his gimmick is also quite remarkable, because he fights in the style of kung fu, and can also start meditating right in the middle of the match to replenish his strength. This match was not boring to watch because it lasted exactly as long as it should have. ***1/2"

[5.0] "Ricochet looked quite good as usual, his standing in the company may not be soaring but he's as capable as ever of producing some really fun highlights. I just wasn't feeling this one so much though, it had some nice athletics but McDonaugh was a poor opponent to play off them, a mechanically fine wrestler with no spark at all and even less desire to sell anything in a way that generated any interest. Bit like a remedial PWG match here all told."
8728.03.2024
22:42
[6.0] "Potentially it is an amazing match, I usually enjoy what Takeshita and Strickland do, but together they did only a spotfest that wasn't always interesting to watch, and moreover, for me good moments were rare here. Nice spots, but too chaotic, and this is a problem of many modern matches, especially with big names and great athletes."

[7.0] "Card subject to change as it was to be Tankman and Titus teaming vs. Bailey and Something while MXM were meant to face MCMG but Mansoor could not make it. These three made due with an enjoyable match with all doing well in the match. Tankman retaining wasnt a surprise but considering the circumstances, I feel they did well."

[6.0] "Some of the moments were really cool. This match had an impressive beginning, there were enjoyable things from both Ospreay and Shibata, but I still like their first match from 2017 much better. Then it was a story of growth of the future big star Ospreay, now it was a big regress in the chemistry between these two because of typical big match things, useless nosell and a lack of a real storytelling."

[7.0] "I have mixed feelings about this one. On the one hand, it didn't live up to the appeal of this sign after all the history that Hanan and Kid had. On the other hand, it is still head and shoulders above most matches from this tournament. The story is actually that Hanan managed to take the New Blood tag team titles from Kid when SLK had an injured ankle, and when they met again in the battle royal, Kitto put her in her place. In essence, they continued this line, pitting Kid's skills and speed against Hanan's passion, but the storytelling of this match was clearly not as strong as that of Hanan and Mirai. A lot of things like Ruaka's interference or the ending leave questions and they definitely need to have a bigger match in the future."

Loved some of the ref distractions in this where they had him pretty much in their pocket. Owen was a brilliant pure wrestler to watch. Some of the no selling from LOD was pretty funny, but to be fair this was a big part of their get up and the fans just went crazy for it. Sid was the one to take the fall here with it being his last match with the company."

[6.0] "I really liked this feud and I loved 1-2-3 Kid as a heel during his feud with Razor Ramon, so he knew how to be a scumbag against Kane. They didn't overstay their welcome, they didn't make X-Pac look too strong in a 1vs1 scenario against a monster and they got the biggest pops near the finish. Kane's jump from the cage looked fantastic and it was a good way to end the thing."

[5.0] "This match was a much worse version of the 2019 one, both teams have regressed since then. Isiah Kassidy still has some potential but I fear it will continue to be wasted. This one was a disappointment, I really wanted to see what AEW would do with the story these teams had going in, but they never even really played on it during the match. This bucks heel turn is turning out to be a flop imo, the botched EVP trigger felt a little embarrassing especially when its the match finish, the worst time to botch."

I respect that both men are great athletes but this match was a snoozefest for the first half and then the second half looked too choreographed and was filled with too many kickouts. My other big issue is, I just dont care for shibata at all, he's underwhelmed every time ive seen him on AEW and I dont have time to watch ROH. For me Shibata lacks personality other than just 'tough guy' but thats the most generic wrestler gimmick around."

[1.0] "A common refrain I find myself saying when looking back at Roman's career is that "it could've been, and should've been, much better", and at no time was it truer than in this match. The clash of the Samoan Joes had the potential, but ultimately, ended with a heatless match with a crowd hostile to its existence. No wonder all you could hear was the "beat the traffic" chants."

[4.0] "The match itself was largely fine but for what has now become a tradition on AEW TV, the male ROH champions dont appear on their own show but they can appear on AEW TV to lose. Why should anyone care about TKROH when this is all they do? They spent so much time hyping up this mystery group who all largely colossally lose. Roderick has already been champion for nearly a month with no defense in sight either. Completely avoidable and awful booking."

[3.0] "It truly is hard for Daniel Bryan to have a bad match, but this is probably a contender for his worst one. Despite what his iron-man performance in Saudi Arabia two weeks prior would've had you believe, he's still having to shake some of the ring rust away. Coupled with a Big Cass who had been meandering since he split from Enzo (resulting, once again, in two Janettys) and going through a bunch of issues, then you've got a recipe for a really mediocre match. Perhaps his release a month later was a blessing in disguise, because he's clearly grown into a serviceable powerhouse since then, and I'd love to see a Danielson v. Morrissey match some time down the line, just to prove it was circumstance, and not the talent, that made this match bad."

The booking is weird here; why not let these two put on a banger and have Judgment Day show up after a pinfall? The 'Mania ladder match doesn't need much to hype it up, but still disappointing to not let these folks show what they are capable of."

They went all in with the strikes and in the end with the no sell (they could have done it before in the match since I particularly like no-selling) and it led to a strong win by Ospreay who is now looking very good and ready to face the Dragon. ****1/2"

[9.0] "This ruled harder than a schoolmarm's wrist shot in a dreary classroom. These two were born to wrestle each other, exhibiting excellent chemistry and moving smoothly together. The camerawork was also on point. The avalanche poisonrana made my jaw drop. Ricochet kicking out after eating knees to his springboard 450 had me hootin' and hollerin'. His destroyer was breathtaking. I have never seen a shooting star crossbody before. Bravo, gentlemen, bravo."

[6.0] "I thought the match was okay. Lawler is a good opponent for Mankind because he naturally draws heat from the crowd, who was starting to get behind Foley's misunderstood character. Lawler is a very old school wrestler to watch, which can sometimes be hit and miss in this era, but he does some solid work here where he consistently targets Mankind's ear. They never show what Lawler's hidden weapon is supposed to be on camera. I'd say my main problem really was that I thought he was in control for too long. No matter who he's wrestling, Foley is a man who takes a tumble and they always look like they hurt! The crowd stay behind him throughout and JR's call when Lawler gets caught in the Mandible Claw was pure gold."

The signing of Gallows and Anderson, with their New Japan pedigree alongside AJ, was a welcome surprise, and the OC/Enzo, Cass and Cena feud was fun, this was probably the first sign that Karl and Luke - Luke especially - were riding on AJ's coattails. Poor match."

[9.0] "They are both working all over the legs but due to her strength & experience, Tomoka's kicks/work hurts Azusa more so she has the advantage and gets more offense. It played a part in the entire match and the selling was top-notch. Great performance by both"

[9.0] "An excellent match all around, a slow start but once it picks up speed it feels relentless. The story of a hurt Kawada being picked apart by Otani, but rallying and just beating Otani to the point where hes actively trying to escape into the ropes blindly is beautiful. Kawada sells like only he can really, he carries across the pain of a man who is visibly hurt but conditioned to limit how much he feels, Otani also does an excellent job of selling the brutal offence at the end. Honestly this is peak levels of Kawada for me, ending matches with stiff kicks to the head is always satisfying in a sadistic kind of way."

[9.0] "The Styles/Cena feud of 2016 and early 2017 was probably the best of both mens' career, and given AJ's illustrious TNA career and Cena's reign as the Face That Runs The Place, that's saying something. Whilst I personally would rate the Royal Rumble match higher, Styles in full #BeatUpJohnCena mode was a joy to behold. Cena himself is no slouch either, and with the pressures of being the Ace taken off him, like the US Open Challenge before and his SmackDown run after this match, you can tell he trulyy is enjoying himself."

Idk why but i remembered taker squashing bray a lil here and it being shorter but no it wasnt that at all bray got plenty of offense and it was back and fourth for a while there i did actually enjoy this match quite a bit. 2.75 stars"

[9.0] "One of the biggest surprises of 2022, let alone this PPV, was just how good Logan Paul is. When this match was announced, I truly thought this was going to be an incredibly weak celebrity involvement match to keep the wheels turning until Mania, and let me tell you, I have never been so happy to have been so wrong. Logan proved that he was in the business for keeps, not just for attention, and if this was a baptism of fire, he came out smelling like roses (are my metaphors getting confused here? ). Some of the best wrestling matches are those in which you are able to suspend your disbelief, and whilst just looking at the card you'd think "oh, of course Logan's not going over", in actual fact, he convinced you that he really could."

[7.0] "A nice hard-hitting match here. With the previous confrontation between Briggs, DIJAK, and Oba Femi, it was a little obvious Briggs was winning here. However, that didn't really take away from my enjoyment of this. I'm hoping the Triple Threat at Stand & Deliver ends up being good, because I think the potential is definitely there."

[6.0] "It was a good match, but I found it a bit too confusing and chaotic at times, especially towards the end. Aside from that, it was still a good match due to the quality of the wrestlers and i think the ending was good and didn't hurt Eddie or Chavo."

I really enjoyed this stuff back when it first aired and always love going back to rewatch this match here. Started out a tad basic and a lil WWE style but about halfway through this match they were really giving us all they got and it was a hell of a match. 4.25 stars"

Probably becyase some of those things he could do vince and the company didnt think fitted takers character. Might be one of the better early streak matches but thats not saying a lot"

[2.0] "Mamma mia, if you think the feuds that Kofi was pushed into to keep the belt warm for Brock were bad, then that's nothing compared to Seth's "keep the belt warm for Brock" run with the belt in 2019 was. Baron Corbin is a fine enough talent, but does not and had never had main event aura. I've spoken before about WWE's problems with a) booking two world championships correctly and b) giving Seth Rollins the respect he deserves; 2019 was truly a nadir in both respects, with his title run during the time, through Vince being senile, devaluing the red brand's belt and Seth's stock even worse than Rock and Roman were doing just after the 2024 Rumble."

The team of Marufuji and Sano is pretty good, but they didn't mesh as well as I had hoped they might have. Sano really feels like he worked better with the heavys at this stage of his career. 3 stars"

Truth stuff would be cool 10 years before this event aired but at this time he was just the 24/7 champ doing this? Erik Rowan Stuff was weird and the rey Mysterio getting replaced with the undertaker? awful everything. thee most pointless thing you'll ever seen that was only meant to hype up the Saudi crowd with the ending with the undertaker"
