[6.0] "Brody didn't seem to me to want to play ball too much tonight. Post second fall is the best example of this. It's still a pretty good match but it does detract from it a bit. I did love Jumbo showing some fire and really taking it to Brody in that 3rd fall. I wish more of the match was that style than the 1st and 2nd."

[5.0] "This was a fine enough match I suppose, but knowing neither of these wrestlers very well, it was hard to really get into. I imagine that if I had more investment in either man, I'd probably end up rating this a bit higher."

[3.0] "A far cry from the cage match. While it had some moments it fell flat for me. Too much messing around on the outside and chaos. It felt really disjointed and somewhat hard to follow until everyone hit their spots in ring at the end. Setting up Edkin vs. Gabe is great, but the two barely interacted at all during the match. The most surprising thing to me is how cold the crowd was to the war dogs, they were not really over at all."

[2.0] "From a pure technical standpoint this match is flat up awful, but I did not completely hate my time watching it. I found myself moderately entertained by this car crash. A lot of people will probably try to make more out of this than what it is. It's just a goofy KOPW match on a house show that was not even gonna air, it is the least of NJPW's problems. The First fall was mostly fine. Oka looked rough in some of the sequences like failing a bridge when going for a pinfall, but the quality of the wrestling here was below average (like a 4/10). The main grip I have is that it took them way too long to go into pinfalls. They only started with something like 4 minutes left in the time limit. Round 2 was pretty boring. Just two dudes eating with little no to emotion. Loa sold being full and feeling ill better than Oka did in this stretch. It was actually 5 minutes of nothing, kinda weird and shows these guys have zero comedy chops. Round 3 was down right terrible truly awful stuff, like all time awful wrestling. The two rolled around on the floor for what felt like 20 minutes as they slowly dragged each other to each corner while selling about to puke. You could probably count the number of wrestling moves done in this segment on one hand. If this was a match I was supposed to care about I might be more miffed, but really I came in expecting exactly what I got."

[1.0] "This was definitely one of the worst matches I have seen this year. It begins with Hobbs dominating the early portion largely filled with unconvincing strikes and bad outside brawling. A good chunk of this only 10 minute match also took place during a commercial break, which is where some of the few bumps that were had in this match occurred. The two were insanely sloppy in this match and did not click at all. It felt like they were afraid to hurt each other. Moxley's punches when he mounts Hobbs in the corner looked like total trash, and Hobb's forearms were terrible too. Eventually, Mox turned the tables after Hobbs charges after him. Hobbs is dodged and slams into the turnbuckle. After this sequence it seems Hobb's knee got injured and so the two go into the ending sequence. Mox has his comeback and they abruptly move into the finish. Mox ends the match with a rear naked choke that feels like it happens out of nowhere so we can get Hobb's out. Even without the injury this was shaping up to be an awful match the latter part just further cemented that fact."

[4.0] "I had high hopes coming into this since they seem like a natural pairing and they have a fair amount of matches together. This time, they meet in a TV wrestling setting, so this could be a great opportunity for Max to show off, since he's more TV than a PPV wrestler. Unfortunately, he wrestles here like he's in a video game: basic heel move, taunt, basic heel move, taunt. Where people see in-ring maturity of MJF, I see total opposite of that. Max has no idea what to do in the ring, referencing Flair and Hogan for no reason whatsoever. There's a Yuta in the top rope spot, which is, again, basic heel move, and is sort of there to show the progress of a match, but it feels like it's mostly to show MJF's comedic manner of selling that goes against his character and creates an enormous disconnect with what MJF is truly all about. The fast pin sequence is nothing organic and doesn't feel like anything more than a reason for crowd to chant. The one solid thing is how they build a dive to the outside as one of the key offensive element for Yuta. Overall, nothing truly interesting here."

[10.0] "Classic, Historic match of all the WrestleMania History, the match was full of emotion and the end of the match when Stone Cold Steve Austin joins the McMahons was shocking at it's moment, but Historic, the match was pure Attitude Era at it's best expression and that's why I give this match 10/10 and a stars rating of 5 stars, a perfect way to finish the best WrestleMania of all time [*****]"

[2.0] "Yeah I wasnt a fan of this. No consistency in terms of entrants entering the matchup, ad breaks cutting up the match and disturbing the whole flow of the match. Theres no doubt that all of the guys involved in this match are talented but this match was poorly put together. I just couldnt get immersed into the matchup with people coming out at random times, with how the ad breaks broke up the match and I think in general; this match missed the mark. The wrestlers arent really at fault here but this match could definitely do with some re-structuring and better production if they are to bring it back."

[9.0] "The main event and the most important match of the night. The match was good according to what I expected and it was equal to a title match for the tag team titles. For now, I would like to see more of Crazy Star in the future. I give this match 9 points."

[7.0] "Nothing else to say with Undertaker and Triple H, besides great and every time Undertaker and Triple H have a match on WrestleMania you can only expect a banger, and this one was one [***3/4]"

[8.0] "I dont know why ppl are hating on this match, I thought it was fantastic and this should become AEW staple stipulation over battle royals. It was fun as fuck just having hoopers interact with each other and giving a taste of matches that we want to see. I liked how we played on establish lore as well, with Jay and ospreay NJPW history and personally it was awesome to see Ospreay in there with archer, because it reminded me of the match that established Ospreay as a heavyweight. The small interactions we got with KOR were also awesome, some nice bumps by kommander, archer and Dante really put this match together. Really cool ****"

[9.0] "Despy usually operates with so little regard for his peers. Its part of what makes him a star. But when he clearly has mutual respect with an opponent, its a nice breath of humanity into his persona. I loved seeing the respect and levity in the early stages slowly melt into a mess of submissions. Most of this match revolved around Numero Dos and the Ron Miller, as torn apart knees has been the thread that held b block together. They sold accumulated damage from the whole tournament. Eagles hit a destroyer early in the match and went for it again towards the end which led to Despy countering with a much more sadistic pile driver. Probably the most memorable spot of the entire tournament, and a fitting way to lead to Robbies demise. I would go 5 if there was more variety, but it was still very close for me even just hitting the one note ****3/4"

[10.0] "The greatest IWGP tag championship match of this era. One of the best tags Ive ever seen. Awesome dynamics of past vs present aces. Okada contributing physicality and emotion. Tanahashi being more savvy and strategic. Bishamon the better team all throughout while the Aces rely on being absolute walking weapons individually. But Yoshi and Goto knew each others every move, and thats what won in the end. Cherry on top was one of the best crowds the company has had in years. It was really cool to see Tanahashi in that element again."

[8.0] "We saw a good match with a relatively high variety of moves and this result was completely logical for him. The performance of all 6 wrestlers was excellent and perfect. I give this match 8 points ."

[9.0] "Easily the best match from their trilogy of matches. Helped by an electric crowd and was an absolute banger. If this is the last we see of Lesnar in a ring, this match wouldnt be a bad way to cap it off. Loved how lesnar put Cody over at the end though."

[8.0] "The conditioning these two men had was incredible. They were throwing haymakers for almost a half an hour to end this match. I know there was time missing but what was shown was an incredible story in telling the crowd that Jumbo is agonizingly almost there. He has the heart and the ability but Harley Race is just the toughest stone in the world to break right now"

[6.0] "A really good underdog performance from Connors, who already displayed some great chemistry with Shingo. Hoping this will be a more serious match down the line, because I really liked the taste I got here. 3.25 Stars."

[7.0] "It was a good and entertaining match and its score is very, very low compared to its quality and it deserved a much higher score. The performance of both wrestlers was good and they used different and good equipment in the match and showed a good match. I give this match 7 points ."

[10.0] "It's amazing how the moves of everyone were perfectly synchronized, like they were ready for this match for so long, probably the best TLC Match of all WrestleManias, full of spots and moments that made me feel like I was watching something of ECW, moments like the Spear of Edge to Jeff Hardy, the Swanton Bomb of Jeff to Rhyno on the table, Christian and Bubba falling over the tables one over the other, a match that was a complete tribute to ECW, 10/10 and this one deserved and still 23 years later still deserves 5 stars so my stars rating is [*****]"

[8.0] "Great attitude era style match despite it being outside of that era officially. A nice bit of crowd brawling, interference that adds to the excitement rather than drains it, and Rocky being Rocky."

[9.0] "This Match had the job of following Ospreay vs Danielson and it delivered. I popped so hard when the Scapegoat Jack Perry rushed the ring from the crowd to cost FTR the titles. This storyline is VERY promising."

[3.0] "A match that didn't seem to be going anywhere, and then Hobbs gets hurt and Mox has to wrap it up. Wasn't really a fan of the match taking place in the first place, but I was excited to see Hobbs and Mox mix it up. I thought they could've had an interesting brawl, but this was pretty much the nightmare result. The winner, of course, was never in question anyway. Here's to a speedy recovering to Hobbs, I though he was having a good run. Bummed this is the only match I caught from the shown. 1.5 Stars."

[10.0] "This is the best match I've ever seen live, and the best Texas Death Match I've ever seen. The brutality and violence was beautifully done and the rivalry grew more intense through the fight."

[10.0] "Where do you begin with a match of this caliber? The crowd could not have been more right with the were not worthy chants. From start to finish this was quite literally 32 minutes and 40 seconds of PERFECTION. The fans in attendance were straight down the middle rooting for both sides, and rightfully so. There were so many memorable moments that after watching this back a second time I was a little angry with myself for overlooking certain spots. The triangle choke reversed with a Styles clash was innovative on so many levels. I am still back and forth on whether the hidden blade off of the apron, missing Bryce Remsberg by literal inches, took my breath away more than the Oscutter countered in mid-air with a Busaiku knee. Both of these moments alone in their own separate matches would make me scream in amazement, so imagine my reaction seeing both in THE SAME MATCH After seeing these, I thought for sure there was no way they could top anything that had happened so far, but looking back at it, and remembering that Danielson and Ospreay are two of the greatest wrestlers ever, I now see the idiocracy behind my thought. After getting hit with the Busaiku, Ospreay and Danielson went to opposing sides of the ring to set up an anime-esque running scene that had me in pure awe. Both wrestlers sprinted toward one another, going for their finishers, Ospreay got the upper hand, planting Danielson with a beautiful hidden blade. Will then follows this up with a Storm Driver 91, which Danielson sold so well with what I thought was him seizing. Remsburg calls for the medical staff and Ospreay is too locked in along with hyping the crowd, hits him with the Hidden Blade and wins the match. These two put on an Oscar worthy performance after the bell, between Danielson screaming in agony and Ospreay looking like he saw a ghost after realizing what he had done, I was sick to my stomach thinking Danielson might actually be severely injured. In the media scrum Will announced he will be retiring the Storm Driver 91 because of the result of the match, adding another level to the story told from this masterpiece. In my perfect world we get a rematch down the line and the pop that not only I will release, but the crowd in attendance will have if he pulls that move out and turns heel will be nothing short of a 10 on the Richter scale. I have been given mixed feeling about this match in a way Ive personally never felt in the world of professional wrestling, I am elated that I was able to be living in a time where I saw the greatest match in professional wrestling history, but I also am upset that there may never be another match that tops this one. Many will attempt to outperform this match, and 99.9% of them will fail, if not each and every single one of them. This will now religiously be a match I will watch on a monthly basis and I have a feeling this is a high I will never be able to come down from. If youre reading this Dave Meltzer I am (not so) patiently waiting for the 7 star grade to be dropped, thank you in advance."

[5.0] "Pretty comfortably a step down from their previous match. This went too big too fast, and Trick's performance was honestly pretty bad in what was the crowning moment of his young career. There's a sunset bomb botch, a table spot that feels meaningless in seconds, and the same offense from both guys repeatedly. Not to mention Ilja's been fighting tooth and nail to keep the belt, so having him lose in a sprint is a baffling decision. Pretty big miss on this one. 2.75 Stars."

[10.0] "The match is just a masterclass in storytelling, athleticism, and technical wrestling ability. They both worked magic together, and you're getting to see one of the greatest wrestlers to ever wrestle, and perhaps the greatest wrestler on the planet right now. From the get go you could see the chemistry with the chain wrestling, the pacing of the match was incredible, it looked like a fight, and they produced incredible moment after incredible moment together. This match is everything I enjoy watching in a wrestling match, and I've already rewatched it several times."

[10.0] "This match single handedly brought me back into the world of professional wrestling. I lost the enthusiasm for pro wrestling in 2017, and after coming home from my grandparents house, I was scrolling on youtube and found the full match of Lights Out Moxley vs Omega. The barbed wire spot off of the ramp was the coolest thing I had seen in my life up to that point and I still occasionally go back and watch that clip. After finishing the match I felt the fire come back into my body and grew back a pro wrestling itch I knew I could never get rid of, Thank you Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega."

[8.0] "Good match between two good talents. It wasnt them going quite all out but they had a good match together with an energetic crowd."

[5.0] "A fine but ultimately predictable match in that it never quite got into another gear. It was largely designed to showcase Shiarakawa. I like Anna Jay but it feels like she is booked too often in an enhancement role and it was hard to feel overly invested in the dynamic between the two. The post match was equally a bit messy with both Toni and Mariahs involvement as well as Serena Deeb. Overall a fine match but not one that I felt overly invested in in terms of result or what followed in the post match."

[7.0] "Chaos and dumb drama, the McMahon family entertaining at their best, and with spots like the one on the Spanish Announcement Table I'm okay with the rating of 7 a satisfactory match to see [***1/4]"

[8.0] "I don't watch AEW. That's mostly because I don't have cable and the WWE Network & Peacock have spoiled me to the point where I no longer feel it's worth it to drop $50 on a single wrestling show. I had to find this match online after hearing it called "the greatest match ever in US soil" and I have to say...I just don't get it. It's a very athletic, entertaining match with some fun counters and several moments that made me say, "oh, that was nice." Even if all you care about is "workrate" and you don't care at all about storytelling or psychology, this match still isn't on that all-time tier for me. The people in the building convinced themselves that this was the greatest match ever before it even happened. Four minutes in, we got "this is awesome" chants when they literally had done nothing but chain wrestling to that point. I don't wanna shit on people for loving something but do you understand what you mean when you say "greatest match ever in US soil? " Was this really better than ANYTHING that Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels or Kurt Angle ever did? The list can go on. Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns from WrestleMania XL was leagues better than this match in terms of storytelling and eliciting emotions. I called that match possibly the greatest I'd ever witnessed after seeing it live and I stand by it. I'm not sure if I'll ever experience those same emotions watching wrestling again. I guess we just prefer different styles of wrestling, or this site is just a collection of Dave Meltzer clones. I know I'm only complaining in a review on a match I gave a rating of "8" but everyone else has slurped the hell out of this match already so I don't need to give it any more flowers. It was a highly entertaining match and I'm mildly glad I went out of my way to watch it. That's it."

[6.0] "A solid match that was historical in being the first time the IWGP title was defended in the US while only the second time it had been out of Japan. A solid if formulaic match. No real sense of doubt in the result but worked well."

[7.0] "This was a pretty good TV main event. It ended up being good that the Koloffs were replaced with the Wild Bunch. Pretty cool seeing all three Fantastics together here, and I'm glad they got the win."

[] "Not gonna give this one a proper rating because it very clearly got completely derailed due to Hobbs going out with a knee injury, but I will just leave it at "the match was simultaneously getting a lot of undue flack and wasn't super good before Hobbs got injured either." Regarding the reasoning for this match taking place, honestly at this point continuing on with that is willful ignorance. New Japan is looking to promote themselves outside of kayfabe, and in kayfabe, Don Callis pulled some strings with New Japan management. As for the second part, prior to the injury, it was just an okay brawl. Not horrid, but not either man's best work."

[3.0] "I didn't think this was very good. I just am not into the team of Jack Victory and Rip Morgan; no matter what the duo are called. Jack Victory was a fine enough worker, but I don't think Rip Morgan was that good. The Riches looked like they were pretty decent, but they didn't win here. The Maulers move on in the tag title tournament."

[4.0] "A match with a number of issues unfortunately, Wills injury being the biggest outlier in that regard and it is hopefully not serious. Another issue is the fact that the result was highly obvious especially once the match was made for the IWGP title on top of the fact that Hobbs has been booked to not feel like a credible threat. Prior to the injury, they had a bit of an underwhelming crowd brawl that never felt like it got into another gear. An unfortunately snakebitten main event on what felt like a snake bitten show."

[6.0] "i loved seeing all these guys on the ring at the same time but i disagree with the decision of putting ospreay on a midcard championship scene. he should be the new world champion at all in and this feud with roddy will just delay things. if he goes into wembley as a midcard champion i am going to be pissed off ngl. anyways his staredown with jay white and kyle were good and the match was fun and very long. thank god jay white was not buried on this match and he should be more protected on the future."

[3.0] "A clunky match to where it did not feel like anyone stood out beyond Ospreay as the winner. Ospreay/Roderick, while a neat match on paper, is an odd direction for Will coming off a big win over Bryan to go for what is essentially the fourth most important title in the company. There was not a lot of semblance with why they allowed who entered to enter while the intervals were inconsistent. A match that in ways raised more questions than answers as to why this was put together as it was combined with ad breaks hurting the flow. The match had a lot of talent in it but the layout did little for me."

[6.0] "Trick mirroring Swerve's arc in that he's massively over with a small audience that'll parrot his catchphrase chant all day, but his ring entrance swagger evaporates when the bell rings. Can we talk about the sunset bomb botch or Ilja not selling the announce table spot or Trick eating two finishers before just powering up to win? Or is that all too inconvenient? **3/4"

[7.0] "Just a really solid tv main event here. This match has stakes too, as this was to decide who got the tag title shot at Final Battle. Kenny King both had cool offense in this match, but also showed where he lacked in some other departments during this one. Rhett Titus seems like a perfect tag guy at this point. The Briscoes make out with the win in this one with a pretty cool finish."

[4.0] "Watchable match that is only made watchable thanks to Danielson doing alot of a heavy lifting. Miz tries to put in some work but he's still brought down by alot of things that make up unwatchable like his annoying character work or constantly going for pin ups. I will give some criticism to Danielson though as I feel like this probably should not have been a submission win considering how heavily the Miz was working on his arm, which really took me out of the ending even though the crowd reaction was at least cool to see."

[8.0] "2 legends (even though one has more controversy) a very good match of techniques, a very technical match and I like It, Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit did an amazing job with this match I personally give this match a 8/10 because even though it's a bit more shorter that I would've expect, the time looks fine for me, not to be 5 stars but I'm okay with Meltzer's stars here [****1/4]"

[8.0] "This is, for my money, probably one of the single greatest short matches of all time. As someone who was unfamiliar with either of these guys work as well as their feud, this blew me away. It seriously looked like they were wrestling in 1.5x speed. It was so fast and fun to watch and I was hooked the whole time. Definitely going to have to watch the rest of this feud at some point."

[7.0] "This was unfortunately for Best Friends an off match. From them but especially their opponents and the tag champs. While Best Friends are quickly getting the belts which is very smart, Aoi Kizuki and Kayoko Haruyama aren't especially impressive. Kayoko has her kicks and occasionally a lariat that's good but most everything else isn't that impressive, and some of the moves looked off. Tsukasa also didn't especially look great here, some off moments that halted this win. But then towards the end it picked up for Best Friends to win. ***1/4"

[8.0] ""Awesome Match, entertaining with each one of the 4 teams having their own moment, and even though the winner doesn't get anything, this match is a probe that even a Showcase match can be as entertaining like a match with it's own story behind""

[6.0] "Good match. Pretty competitive. Good teamwork on display for the Miserably Faithful. Good athleticism shown by Draper."

[7.0] "This match was all Hansen. I wouldn't have expected such destruction but it reminds me of Lesnar vs. Cena at Summerslam slightly. The booking of the ending isn't as good but since Hansen is new it helps build this legend in the making. Can't wait for more."

[4.0] "A match that was a meh for me, Test and Eddie are 2 Wrestlers I like to watch, but this match felt like slow to me or I didn't connect at all with It, but was not a boring match so I'll give this match even though It had interferences and Eddie winning like the way he knows cheating, I'll give this match a 4/10 [**1/4]"

[7.0] "I thought this match was really good to be honest. It's funny when I decided to watch this considering these two just faced off in 2024. Roderick Strong has probably been an MVP of what I've seen of 2011 ROH. KOR is already really good at this point, but would become even better in years to come. This was a cool match to go back and watch."

[7.0] "This was wrestled on fast forward and came off more like a gymnastics routine than a fight, but it was breathlessly entertaining action with a dramatic conclusion ***1/2"

[4.0] "Well, Robbs' injury ruined part of the match, but the booking itself didn't sit well with me at all. Let's face it, the fact that the IWGP World title was defended on a weekly show is already questionable, and the booking of the match didn't help much. The fact that Moxley took a beating for part of the match and then had a comeback out of nowhere is something that didn't please me. It was a mediocre match overall. Considering both wrestlers' abilities, it could have been an epic match, but it wasn't even in the main event of the match card. Overall, it was just bad."

[9.0] "This is through and through not my kind of match I suppose. But when you get the crowd to start chanting please be careful, and Im sitting here like yeah thats earned and also kind of wholesome, it starts to circle all the way back into something that I can mess with. What a bunch of lunatics."

[6.0] "The match was solid but the winner was never once in doubt and the booking surrounding the match was questionable at best. Kyle has now gone 0-6 in AEW TV appearances as the ROH TV champion and Strickland looks largely evenly and competitive with someone that has been booked like a loser for weeks on the shows. If Kyle is to be getting these kind of match opportunities where he loses, he shouldnt be a champion as it makes the championship look worse through him losing repeatedly like this while nobody cares about the title that he holds. A fine match in a vacuum at least."

[10.0] "Really it is one of the greatest matches ever. The third time Im saying that this year (all Danielson matches the man that he is) what a time. Ospreay is absolutely incredible. He has amazing matches just constantly. The high notes that he hits so expertly are all just perfectly balanced by Danielsons realism and grit. This is what AEW is all about. I am up and down on all the moving parts of the company but when this type of match is happening a few times a year, nothing else matters. And of those special matches in the short history of AEW, this is the tippy top."

[4.0] "Not a bad match by any means but it just feels like this one doesn't really get off the ground. The title change makes sense here but i feel this match could have been a lot better than it ended up being. 2.5 stars at best."

[9.0] "What a match. The first half of the match is slower than the other half but not in a boring way. The second half is absolutely awesome. There was so much drama and so many times I thought the match was over especially when AJ hit styles clash. Great match overall"

[10.0] "Highly underrated match. I think first run Brock is him at his peak and I believe this match is proof of that. The Rock has a fantastic send off here as he passes the torch to Brock by making him look like an absolute monster. These guys went back and forth and it NEVER slowed down or got boring even for a second. Heyman was also wicked entertaining here with his interferences making me laugh every time. A perfect finale for the greatest Summerslam of all time, and one of the best matches in either mans career."

[9.0] "The greatest knees up spot Ive ever seen. Brutal enough to lead into the single rainmaker and have no doubt PAC was staying down. The whole match was also good. A different style of wrestler for Okada to match up against, but the counters and reversals leading into the big moves still hit like always. Babyface PAC rules. Heel Okada is my favorite thing in wrestling. Would love to see this again down the road in a main event with 10 more minutes."

[7.0] "Seeing Risa Sera without her blue hair or gushing blood is crazy but that's pro wrestling. Evolving until you find YOUR character and she has. She still did some Risa Sera work though and it was quite enjoyable. Arisa just being fed up eventually and doing multiple German's was dope. ***1/2"

[7.0] "These Hardcore matches for the old Hardcore Title are so much fun, these are the types of matches someone would like to see for a Falls Count Anywhere match of today, that they really make the word anywhere mean something and not like Around the arena, this match is how I would love to see the Falls Count Anywhere matches on a WrestleMania that they can finish the match in the most bizarre stage possible and for that and because the match was okay besides what I said before I'll give It a 7/10 [**3/4]"

[6.0] "I didn't get into this one as much as a lot of people and I don't know why. The action is good and fast paced but something about it never clicks with me. I know this match is good but maybe I just hold such a grudge against this fucking horrible Wrestlemania to where I can't even stomach the good matches from it."

[10.0] "There was some truly insane stuff in this match. I dont remember much about the pacing and more logistical elements of the match because I was just so in aw the whole time. The perfect match to show someone why wrestling (that is the in ring competition) rules."

[7.0] "Solid match. Very competitive. It took two Kenzie cutters for Paige to beat Markova. That is pretty impressive. Markova should at some point be champion instead of being relegated to the "bride's maid" role."

[6.0] "A very solid match and probably Angle's best up to this point in time. Jericho is already really over here and Kurt already plays the heel fantastic. Solid 3 star match and it was never going to get much worst than that with these two guys."

[6.0] "While the result wasn't a surprise, they were never going to make the final match a dead rubber, how they got there was. Nice to see Jake Lee in a New Japan ring."

[8.0] "Even with the power of future knowledge this match still stands as one of the best MITB ladder matches. Each person here had a moment to shine and they all nailed it, especially Shelton who was made to look like an absolute star. Yeah some of these spots were done better in the future ladder matches but there's something so charming about seeing them done in the first ever one. Edge was very clearly the right choice, and I'm glad that this match was good enough to become a WWE staple."

[8.0] "A good opening match for the called best WrestleMania of all time, 2 amazing wrestlers and a good storyline from behind not too spectacular but enjoyable and the match was pretty solid and good so my rating for this match and even with the result of retain by Jericho I give this match a 8/10 [***1/2]"

[8.0] "First big time Best Friends tag match. Hanako and Mio are big in Arisa's catalogue so to see them against both these women is great. What is also very good is Arisa doing a nice maneuver to get outta a turnbuckle double team move by having long enough legs to whack Mio's face and Tsukasa kicking Hanako in the face between Arisa's legs to allow her to take a German. Arisa and Tsukka instantly are trying tag team work together and that helps make them a great team. ****"

[8.0] "Possibly the best debut match of all time. Ronda was made to look like an absolute star here and she did a great job. Kurt and Trips were obviously past their primes but they realized how important this was and pulled out all the stops to make this a great match, and Stephanie did such a good job as a heel. The action is fast and fun and the ending sequence is one of the most satisfying in wrestling history. It would've been a 10/10 if Stephanie got whopped way more, but this match was the light in the ocean of darkness that was WM34."

[5.0] "Pretty disappointing considering the talent level of both men involved. I really was looking forward to this and was hoping the first time the IWGP Heavyweight Title is defended on AEW TV would be great, but it wasn't. Partly this was due to Hobbs' injury mid match. This kind of took them out of it and they had to improvise. This didn't help what I already thought was a kind of below average match. Definitely not outright mad, just pretty underwhelming and disappointing. The Takeshita/Mox match should be great, though. (**3/4)"

[4.0] "I was really looking forward to this match, so it's a shame that it didn't come off the way it was meant to because of the apparent knee injury to Hobbs. I really hope he's OK, because I think he's been on a great run lately and has a lot of talent; his match against Will Ospreay a few weeks ago really demonstrated that. (Though of course, Ospreay makes EVERYBODY he wrestles look good...) I know it doesn't really make sense to have a non-NJPW wrestler get a IWGP title match, but I still dug it and I like that AEW collaborates like this with promotions like NJPW and Stardom..."

[6.0] "Good match. Pretty competitive. Some good combinations and exchanges. Some impressive athleticism from Misery. Some incredible power from Talos."

[7.0] "swerve showed a lot of fighting spirit by wrestling a match against a huge opponent on his first show as aew champion and the match was good. i was expecting a little bit more because both guys are hoopers but they still managed to do a good match with nice counters and high speed action. this new swerve finisher is just beautiful and works very well with opponents that can fly just like kyle fletcher. however i will not give it a higher rating because ever since kyle became champion in roh it seems like he is losing every single match he has on aew and i hate it."

[5.0] "If you're wondering why this match was taking place for the title - either in kayfabe or as a shoot - then you really need to pay attention to the product because they spelled it out explicitly multiple times. The shoot reason is that NJPW are asking AEW to help promote their brand as part of the partnership; it's the same reason they show up for Forbidden Door every year. In kayfabe, it's because Don Callis was supposedly owed a favour for putting on Jericho/Omega at WK12, and he cashed in the favour because he's a smarmy bastard who wants gold around his clients' waists even though they don't really deserve it. This isn't rocket science, people; Callis literally said laid out the story on Saturday and again tonight! Anyway, the match. Rather pedestrian brawl, and not really the best work from Mox or Hobbs. Nothing too bad, but nothing too good either. The presumed knee injury was probably a blessing in disguise then, because one of the key criticisms of AEW is that matches between mismatched talent have a tendency to go on too long. 11 minutes for a TV defence against someone on Hobbs' level is where we should be at, really."

[5.0] "Weird match that I'm very mixed on. Kind of like the storytelling at sometimes and think its really gripping and at some times its really lazy and pretty obvious. The ring work for the most part is good to pretty great but there are moments of the match that are really boring. I don't like how Neville really slowed down the pace after Zayn made his comeback. The result here is obvious considering I have hindsight but I guess there was a pretty big pop for his win as well as a pretty nice crowd."

[6.0] "A perfectly fine tag match but in hindsight, I think maybe they should've just gone with Rey vs Santos in singles. Seems like the stuff with Dom was thrown together and there was much less heat between he and Rey compared to last year. Still some fun spots in this match. Andrade was fired up. I've never seen a double stacked cross body so that was cool. That Wilder springboard will never not be awesome. The Eagles cameos, though totally nonsensical in the story, was fun for me as an Eagles' fan and I appreciate when WWE makes a point to lean into to the city they're visiting. Nothing spectacular, but a fine filler match after two great matches to start the show."

[8.0] "i love david vs goliath matches and this rating is because of the potential this match had before they had to call the audible and end it earlier than scheduled. i respectfully disagree with everyone saying that the offense from hobbs was weak (i respect all opinions), because he did a sequence of world strongest slams on moxley that looked very stiff. he came out as a very dominant guy on those 10 minutes and looked like a killer. unfortunately he got injured and it ended in an anticlimactic way but i was really enjoying the match thinking that it would last more. so yeah i enjoyed the match and i think it had potential to be a beautiful storytelling match."

[6.0] "Fun match, not much to say, every interaction was funny in this match and the wrestling was good, Saki getting the win made it funnier"

[6.0] "Another good match with Clark Connors and Shingo Takagi having good chemistry. Connors has bulked up a lot lately so the size difference between the two wasn't great."

[4.0] "My only true disappointment on this show. The hype package was so good and we were all so ready but everything felt rushed. Never kicked into gear. Just a bunch of super kicks until the finish came out of nowhere. I liked the story stuff with Jimmy pretending to be remorseful and Jey struggling over whether to deal the final blowto his brother. I wish they leaned more into that stuff but it is what it is. The verdict on this one is sadly NO YEET."

[6.0] "I didn't think Mina Shirakawa and Anna Jay appeared to have particularly great chemistry together at first, but they improved as the match went along, and I think it turned out to be a fine (if nothing particular special) match. I thought Mina Shirakawa herself looked really good for the most part. Great to see her AEW debut, and great to see Stardom talent getting a spotlight on Dynamite. Her entrance was fun too; she's a really entertaining wrestler... and not just when she's kissing Mariah May."

[6.0] "Exactly what I expected it would be. Quick, everyone gets some shit in and then Cargill gets the hot tag and the ultimate shine. Everyone looked good. The entrances were fire and there was a fun aura to this match. Just need to see more out of Jade before I'm fully convinced."

[7.0] "Meiko was unfortunately off this match, or at least the first half of it. A couple major awkward screwups that just halted this match but when these two women were beating the shit outta one another, it worked. Hard hits and Meiko's kicks were gnarly. Arisa did a stomp that was so TOUGH that she basically landed entirely in a standing position on Meiko's ribs. ***1/2"

[6.0] "This was fun but could've been better, Utami and Megan could be a fun singles match, and this was another dominant performance from Megan"

[7.0] "Lesnar looks really like a best here. I really enjoyed this one although I have to say I was expecting a bit more but nonetheless it was enjoyable."

[5.0] "This was the exact opposite of the second Chamber match of the night. Where the later starts very slow and picks up, this one starts out amazingly and devolves into a pretty average result. For the first half, I was all set to give this 7 points, but it REALLY drops in quality as it goes on. For that first half, Punk, Ziggler, and Kofi are putting on a clinic. Just great moves and fantastic spot after fantastic spot. The first small blow is that Truth is in and out. Yet again, we had someone in the match who was just there to pad the number. He barely made an impact. When Miz enters, he keeps it going strong. But when Jericho enters, it falls apart. The problem for me is, too many guys have WAY too much time just lying down and out of the way. Jericho and Punk have a long segment while ALL three men are just lying there. Some of them had been lying there since before Jericho even ENTERED. Kofi and Ziggler are 'selling' on the ground for a laughable amount of time. Then Ziggler gets up just to be eliminated, so it seemed pointless. Kofi gets a bit more action including a big spot off the top of the pod before he went. If that wasn't bad enough, they have a ridiculously stupid 'knock out' spot with Jericho. They definitely knew Punk vs. Jericho was their 'Mania match, so they must not have wanted a decision here, so they went with this. But it's really bad. Individual storylines are important, but when you have a multi-man match like this, you can't throw the rest of the crew away to highlight one pair of people. It wastes the talent and makes them feel pointless. A really, really promising and competitive Chamber match that unfortunately got bogged down by bad booking. Still, it ends up a solid and enjoyable match. Just went off the rails and didn't live up to how it started."

[7.0] "This variation of the gauntlet match is SO much better than, for example, the Battle Royal we just saw on Raw last week, which started out chaotic (as most Battle Royals do) and only got good after most wrestlers were knocked out of the ring. By contrast, the pacing of this one was great, and not knowing who was coming next added a fun element of surprise to the match (especially when Ospreay came out). It also gave multiple wrestlers their moments to shine, particularly a great spot when Kormander's reversal sent Lance Hoyt flying through two tables (well, one-in-a-half, really...)"

[6.0] "Fun match, a nice homecoming for Koguma everyone worked well here with Saya and Momo being the best imo"

[8.0] "Super rewarding star-studded tag. Totally delivers on everything you would want from that babyface team. Just pure energy."

[6.0] "A genuinely fun brawl. It's good to see BUSHI in a match of this style. Gabe Kidd struggles to put on a bad match."

[7.0] "Solid match. Pretty competitive. Nice clash of styles between Reed's athleticism and Jaz's mat skills."

[7.0] "I think it's pretty great that Swerve Strickland was already fighting a match in the very first TV episode after winning his title on Sunday, and Kyle Fletcher was a terrific opponent for him. The match wasn't perfect, but both are very talented wrestlers and I think they had good chemistry together. (The leaping stomp Swerve took off the turnbuckle onto Fletcher on the apron was so brutal! ) I also liked the moment in which Fletcher started to go for a table or weapon under the ring per Don Callis' instruction, but then decided to go against Callis' orders and win the match his own way. Showing further cracks in Callis' control over his wrestlers, particularly Will Ospreay and now maybe Fletcher too. Good subtle long-term storytelling..."

[6.0] "I don't get it. I had always heard about how amazing this match was and how it's the best match under 5 minutes. It's like, decent, I guess? It's not particularly brutal or stiff or anything like I imagined when I heard about an amazing 2 minute KENTA match. But for the two minutes that it lasts it's at least non-stop. There's some cool stuff like Marvin counting the GTS with a frankensteiner. Next time KENTA tries the GTS, Marvin tries it again, but KENTA counters THAT counter into a powerbomb. Anyway, like, it's fine. Maybe there's some greater context I'm missing but while it was enjoyable for what it was there's absolutely nothing must-see about this."

[7.0] "****1/4 Wow. These two beat the tar out of each other. Takeshi Morishima impressed me here and Bryan Danielson delivered. Out of all of the old ROH matches I've gone back and watched, this one sticks out to me a lot. Not the best of the bunch I have seen, but still great."

[8.0] "Man i love heel Chris Jericho. He attacks Naito before he enters the ring and then powerbombs him through a table which looked awesome. They eventually get into the ring and Naito pulls a comeback. Jericho wins the match after he pushed the referee and hit Naito with a low blow after that Y2J hits the codebreaker for the win. Overall a very enjoyable match and Jericho look like a great heel."

[7.0] "**** Heard great thing about this feud. First of their matches I've seen and my first time seeing Nigel McGuinness wrestle. I felt these too could've done more, so I'm looking forward to their later match (I've seen the Driven '07 match). Great physicality throughout"

[4.0] "First and foremost, all the best to Will Hobbs (a talented wrestler who has had some of his best outings, lately). Its clear he was injured and they had to audible to the finish during the last couple minutes. With that said, the match struggled before that. This is difficult to judge as who knows if they would have picked it up during the second half, but with what we got? It wasnt a deserving IWGP World Heavyweight Championship Match in terms of quality/story like many of us worried. Im still looking forward to this title reign for Mox as I think he can do Narita and Umino good, but please, no more unceremonious title defenses on American television. Commercials, and tv time constraints arent conducive to the style of matches required for an IWGP title defense. There is an elevated expectation associated with this title (of course, not always met), and this didnt meet those, unfortunately (for the many reasons discussed. Again, speedy recovery to Hobbs! ). A rough start to this title reign, but luckily, next week is another defense, and hopefully redemption."

[6.0] "Decent match, but it's structured really weirdly. It takes awhile for the match to get going and when it does there are still moments where I felt like the match was sort of awkward paced. Despite this, I do like how stiff and hard hitting this match was a times. Also think the ending was a bit weird as well, could have went on for longer in my opinion as it was just getting really good."

[6.0] "My buddy thought this was gonna suck. I thought it wild be a sleeper hit. I think it ended up somewhere in the middle. Some fun stuff with some ECW callbacks in Philly that didn't overstay its welcome. Snoop was also funny on commentary. As a Lashley fan, I'm just happy he got on the card because I was fuming last year when he just stood on the stage with the Andre trophy."

[4.0] "[2.0*] This was the only match I watched from the show and I was looking very forward to it. Unfortunately, for injury reasons, it sucked. I love Hobbs and I think he is on the run of his life, and it is quite obvious that his injury changed the match entirely and they called an audible at the ending (This was the first show in a very long time without a overrun), but I can not give it a better rating because it was just not good. They clearly went the route of the big powerhouse dominating the 1st half to the epic comeback from the smaller guy at the 2nd half, but the match ended way sooner than it was going to end and the comeback took literally 1 minute only. I wish a speed recovery to the big guy."
