[8.0] "This was a great tournament. All the matches were fast paced and had exciting action. I enjoyed all the matches. Maybe the only criticism I have is that all the first round encounters were under five minutes, but knowing that the shows only last two hours it had sense. Eventhough they are short, they were cool and we could see some good moves. The semifinals were far better, but the best encounter was the final between Chris Sabin and Juventud Guerrera. I knew that was going to be good, but not that good. They have an insane chemistry and they show it on some great counters and rollups exchanges. There are some great nearfalls. It's a huge victory for Sabin, I think this elevates him to the top of the company as one of the biggest stars. He did a great job. And having the four foreign wrestlers was cool, so we could see new talent on this shows. Hopefully, Teddy Hart and Juvi come back to the company. Totally worth checking out this tournament."

[3.0] "The match starts out well and shows a lot of promise. You get some great stuff like Samu appearing to almost kill himself on a neck hang spot, and a great monster run from Diesel, kind of the prototype for something like Kane in 2001 or Lesnar in 2020. He also murders Virgil with some absolutely insane elbows. After the first third though, it's all downhill and doesn't pick up again until the final four. So many booking decisions just leave me scratching my head. Why are Owen Hart and Randy Savage in there for such a short period of time, while guys like Men On A Mission and Tatanka feel like they're in there forever? Bret is amazing and completely steals the show while he's in there and is the only genuine saving grace of everything in the second two thirds of the match. Like even during the celebration at the end he's still selling his leg. His leg selling is so damn good, it's incredible. So yeah, maybe just over 15 minutes of this 55 minute match were good, and the weirdly dead crowd for most of its duration doesn't help (though to be fair it is a Rumble massively lacking star power). Not ideal!"

[6.0] "A mediocre tournament for the most part, filled with HOT overbookings which were for the most part terrible. There were rarely good matches in the first two rounds, and the left side of the bracket was awful. But things picked up after the quarter finals with two good semi final matches and an amazing final. Yota Tsuji was the MVP of the tournament as he had the 3 best matches of the whole thing ( against Cobb, Phantasmo and Goto). Overal a lackluster tournament carried by the last two shows."

[5.0] "Now that the tour is over, i have to say that the New Japan Cup as a whole this year was pretty lackluster, partially due to a lot of the recent major departures, but more caused by the booking than anything else. A few dud tournament matches, lots of mediocre tournament matches, and some baffling early eliminations. It wasn't a total dud however as there were still some really good matches, but it was overall a disappointing year for the New Japan Cup."

[8.0] "That was a very good tournament that gave some good opportunities to fresher talents, didn't use any big match-ups but still had a lot of very good matches. The only mistake being Jack Perry going this far in the tournament as he was clearly not ready, not over enough to be in the quarter finals. It felt very forced. Other than that, the young talents shined and showed that the future is bright. Some of the matches didn't look great on paper but turned out to be quite good, they will probably never get the credit they deserve because some of those matches are from wrestlers that the "fans" blindly hate but they did good and the crowds had some fun. The finals was a little surprising as Goto was probably not supposed to be there but they made it work perfectly, maybe better than the original plan. Tsuji had a great path to the victory by beating veterans in Cobb and ELP, one of his big rivals in Ren Narita, the biggest heel in New Japan in EVIL and finally he beat Mr. New Japan Cup who had an overall easier path but beat SANADA the previous world champion, a guy that Tsuji has never beaten so it's not like Goto came into this final looking weak, he could absolutely win, but Tsuji showed that it's time to move on to the next generation and he'll lead that one."

[7.0] "I liked this year's Triangle Derby, even though Rossy's booking marred it. The big problem for a lot of folks last year, which is why it got panned by so many, was that it dragged on too long and people were sick of it. The final show last year did well because the card was stacked with title matches, not because of the derby match. This year's show found the sweet spot. Do the tournament, make it a 1 day thing, do it on a PPV and cap it off in a title match like last year. That way, the people who liked the derby still get something, and the naysayers only have to deal with it for a day, which means they won't complain anymore. The booking of the tournament was wacky because of Rossy's cringe, notorious draws/double countouts, but it gave the wrestlers energy to get through it and produce a great final match. If they do this next year, maybe make it like this year's Cinderella Tournament. Do rounds 1 and 2 on one show, quarterfinals on a korakuen or something and the semifnals/final on the next show. Either way, while I liked last year's tournament, I can't complain about this year's much now that Rossy finally got booted and we won't have to deal with his booking in Stardom anymore."

[3.0] "In defense of the talent involved, the worst part of this were the rules of the tournament, because it limitated a lot what they could do and had no much sense. The matches were repetitive and not really interesting. My favourite was Devon Storm against Sandman. The rest of them had the same structure, weapon shots leading into a table bump. Sandman won the Hard Ten after throwing New Jack off a balcony in to a table on the floor. At least it was far better than the Anarchy Alliance."

Dean should've won but whatever I guess HHH was A fine winner. Roman's performance though is.. its fine I guess he was down for most the time he was in."

Kairi and Shayna had A great final with the right result too. But yeah the future of this division was everywhere in this tournament and it ruled."

[5.0] "This really felt like meh. The blocks were looking interesting and all the interest went to drain when the final four were revealed. Well there is no longer a fairytale story, or some interesting choice. This all predictable teams. And the finals made me even more mad. Champ vs champ where anyone wins would anyways get the title shot and it ahd happen, the reigning IWGP tag champ called our the reigning NJPW strong openweight tag champ on a rematch in the Tokyo dome for a "winners takes all" affair, the strong title and the tag titles has been on hot potatoes since April of last year and the fact they are being defended along side is giving me even more headache. And the fact that the champ are winning a tournament to determine who will face the champion are creating more questionable decision, it's just like WWE champ wins a royal rumble which is used to determine the challenger for maina. GEDO is seriously scratch everyone's head with this one. No wonder why the tag tournament are losing their value"

[7.0] "Really strong tournament with everyone involved putting on good matches, Masha going over was a delight to see but I really wished to see Mike Bailey go a little bit further. Some matches as well could've been much better. I personally wouldn't skip most of these matches at all, but the ones that do feel really skippable drag the tournament's rating down, but overall it is a really a strong showing for everyone, and shows the strength of the J-Cup."

[7.0] "Not a great event in terms of wrestling quality. It was what it was, a card filled with deathy ms. That said they were mostly executed well and the crowd were really into it. And to be fair it is to my knowledge the only pure death match Fed in the UK."

[4.0] "This tournament had no point, as Triple X lost the championship on a horrible double pin situation that had no much sense. Most part of the matches were boring, specially the ones involving the Harris Brothers. The best part of the tournament was the final between AMW and Triple X. It was a very good match, with good storytelling and a great work by the heels working on Harris and drawing heat for a hot tag. I like it a lot, but the rest of the tournament was pretty bad."

[2.0] "This couldn't be good. Having a tag tournement in which most part of the teams are composed by people who hate each other couldn't go right. At least there's some good stuff on it, mostly the two first Chris Harris matches. The first, alongside James Storm as AMW, against AJ and D-Lo was really good. The other one is Harris & Sabin vs Jerry Lynn and Justin Credible. This was my favourite match, great action and set a rivalry between the two former ECW champions which should be fun. The rest of the tournament was bad. First, the Harris brothers doing some racist stuff, because they didn't want to tag with "that kind", referring to Ron Killings. Then the Traci and David Young team getting to the finals was weird as that match was horrible. I don't know what's the point of this tournament, but at least the right team won. Another match between AMW and Triple X should be good."

[7.0] "This kind of plodded along. No major surprises or blasts from the past. Nice to see they shunned Brock Lesner though. Great that Cody Rhodes picked up the win and got the back to back. Also Punk looked gassed from about two minutes in. Hindsight.. hed picked up an injury."

[8.0] "A good concept and this skyrocketed Ace Austin back into the X Division title picture. Him vs Blake Christian in the finals was a good semi main event & the rest of the tournament had moments, especially funny ones with Crazy Steve and young Tre Lamar. Crazy that this was a pandemic era matchup. Good interviews and the x division is always a massive part of TNA Wrestling."

[9.0] "It was a fun match and surprisingly I was never bored but this match only problem is that in the end it didn't matter there was no reward other then being able to say "I beat 49 people" The best part was Daniel Bryan's iron man performance which was amazing."

[7.0] "I actually liked this tournament. The first round of the tournament was pretty good and the semi finals were decent, the only noteworthy match was Joe/Punk as Starks/Hobbs was rather lackluster. Everyone was expecting Punk to win the tournament so good on him for putting Ricky over."
