CAGEMATCH: Thank you for giving us from www.cagematch.de the chance to ask some questions.

BOBBY QUANCE: I\'m more than happy to answer any questions you have.

CAGEMATCH: What first made you want to get into pro wrestling? Were you a wrestling fan growing up? When did you say, \"That is what I want to do\"? And what did your family/friends say about that?

BOBBY QUANCE: I began watching wrestling about 4 years ago around the time Ken Shamrock got into the WWF. I was into UFC and saw Ken guest referee in San Jose and was hooked from there. My parents think I\'m wasting my time, but who ever got anywhere listening to their parents?

CAGEMATCH: You trained at APW’s Boot Camp. Jardi Frantz said: “I trained Bobby Quance, who is awesome!” What do you think about this comment?

BOBBY QUANCE: Yeah, Jardi is a great trainer and I was lucky enough to have him pull me aside and work with me before and after class. I really enjoy working with him and I\'m glad to hear he thinks so highly of me.

CAGEMATCH: Speaking of comments, Roland Alexander said at one of the last Gym Wars that he thought Michael Modest had the most natural talent of anyone to ever walk through the doors of APW Garage, until Bobby Quance came along. Do comments like this put some kind of pressure on a young guy like you or do you see this as a honor?

BOBBY QUANCE: I\'d have to say both. Michael Modest is one of the greatest wrestlers out there and to have someone like Roland compare me to Modest is certainly an honor. However this puts a lot of pressure me after only having been wrestling for such a short while. I\'m afraid that people will be skeptical of me before even seeing me wrestle. It\'s a bold statement I hope to live up to.

CAGEMATCH: One last comment from a recent interview that we did with Super Dragon: “I wrestled him in a singles match and worked his knee, so he would have chronic arthritis in 10 years. HA! Bet you didn\'t know that was coming, Bobby! He just sold his knee incredibly well in the match. A lot of guys who sell body parts in matches only sell them when they are being worked on. He made it so believable that I hurt his leg. He\'s very good for this stage in his career, and I think he\'s going to be amazing in time.“ Anything you’d like to say on this one?

BOBBY QUANCE: I talked to the doctor and he said I\'d only have pain in my knee from 4-5 years, SO THERE! I was able to sell so well because he was great at working my knee. Super Dragon is a great wrestler and I always look forward to working with him.

CAGEMATCH: Now let’s talk a little bit about the APW Boot Camp. You had the chance to work with 3 trainers with 3 different wrestling styles. You had the American Dragon, who is probably one of the best US Indy wrestlers today. You had Jardi Frantz, who is an amazing High Flying athlete and you had Robert Thompson, who is a hard working guy that seems to “live APW”. So tell us something about your time there. What do you think of the Boot Camp and the coaches there?

BOBBY QUANCE: American Dragon is just full of knowlegde, he knows a bunch of holds and counters and things that no one\'s ever seen before. You can always learn more from him. Jardi\'s great because he always wants to work out and improve. His style is different from American Dragon\'s. Getting to work with them I get a great combination of high-flying and matwork. As far as living APW, Robert Thompson is \"The Bomb\"! APW owes a lot to Robert for his dedication not only to the company but also to his students.

CAGEMATCH: You had your first match at APW King of Indies 2001. It was an 8 Man Tag Match. What do you think about this match? Was it hard for you to wrestle in front of a crowd for the first time?

BOBBY QUANCE: It was a little nerve wracking because I was thrown into that match at the last minute. One guy on the opposing team was Max Justice. Max Justice wrestled at the first APW show I went to and he was just awesome. Now here I am in my first match against him. I was disappointed that I didn\'t actually get to wrestle him in that match, but it was fun none the less.

CAGEMATCH: Speaking of King of Indies, it was one of the best events I’ve ever seen and you had the chance to be a part of this inside the ring and backstage. What are your thoughts on this event and the guys that wrestled there?

BOBBY QUANCE: I thought it was amazing to be in the back with guys like Low-Ki, American Dragon, Spanky and A.J. Styles. I agree about it being one of the best shows and am proud to have been a part of it. Hopefully I\'ll be in the tournament for the next King of Indies.

CAGEMATCH: Your ringname is “Shooting Star”. And all though you’re doing a perfect shooting star press, the point is that you seem to be/become APW’s shooting star. Where do you see yourself in 1 year from now?

BOBBY QUANCE: A year from now I would like to see myself working in Japan. I think Japan would be great for me and I would benefit from the experience.

CAGEMATCH: In 2002 you had some incredible matches and the fans seem to love your style. Which match would you consider your best match (so far)?

BOBBY QUANCE: I probably have to say, the match Jardi and I had against Super Dragon and B-Boy in Epic this past September. It was my first show in Los Angeles and none of the fans really knew who was. I didn\'t get a crowd reaction during my entrance but at the end of the match everyone was chanting my name. It was very unexpected and was a great feeling to win a crowd over like that.

CAGEMATCH: Let’s talk about EPIC Pro Wrestling. You had the chance to wrestle at their last show. What do you thing about the concept behind EPIC with mixing up several wrestling styles? What do you think about your debut match there and do you see yourself as a part of this for a long time?

BOBBY QUANCE: I think it\'s great what they\'re doing. One match was American Dragon and Samoa Joe where they did shoot-type Japanese style. Then there was my match with a lot of high flying. This way the fans are exposed to a wide spectrum of wrestling. Epic can put on spectacular shows like this and I would love to come back to Epic and continue working for them.

CAGEMATCH: Have you heard about the Ring of Honor promotion in Philadelphia? If so, what do you think about their concept of presenting more pure wrestling with a smaller part of entertainment?

BOBBY QUANCE: I think the idea of presenting more pure wrestling and a smaller part of entertainment is a great idea. I love to see a wrestling match without having it to be built up with nechrophelia.

CAGEMATCH: The wrestling business is a hard way to get a living. Are there some guys in this business you consider as close friends? Do you have some “enemies” you don’t like to work with?

BOBBY QUANCE: I consider everyone at APW a close friend. Since I have only been wrestling a short time, I haven\'t built up any enemies that I know of...yet.

CAGEMATCH: Tell us something about the person “Bobby Quance”, so we can learn something about your “way of life”.

BOBBY QUANCE: I\'m a determined person and try to be the best at whatever I do.

CAGEMATCH: What are the future plans for Bobby Quance? Will you try to go to Japan, trying to get into WWE or become a part of NWA:TNA?

BOBBY QUANCE: My future plans are to get more overall outside bookings eventually leading to bigger promotions in Japan, WWE and NWA:TNA.

CAGEMATCH: What do you think about the fans? Do you feel fans today are too demanding? Is it to much “we want more high spots and bumps”?

BOBBY QUANCE: I think the fans are great. They are very demanding but I also believe that they often recongnize good wrestling when they see it and don\'t necessarily need high spots and big bumps.

CAGEMATCH: What was the funniest story you’ve experienced inside a wrestling ring/locker room?

BOBBY QUANCE: Can\'t think of any.

CAGEMATCH: Is there anything you want to say to your German fans?

BOBBY QUANCE: Yes, I can\'t believe I have German fans.

CAGEMATCH: Thanks a lot for answering our questions! We wish you all the best for your future!

BOBBY QUANCE: I was more than happy to answer your questions and thank you for having me on this edition of Cagematch.
