"My mind was working against me"

Michael Elgin: "I've learned over my life that it takes a strong man to admit when he's wrong. And the last couple of months I've been wrong. See, when I come through that curtain, no matter if you guys choose to boo or cheer me, I step in this ring for the same reason you bought a ticket and sit out there - 'cause I love Professional Wrestling.

And I-- I've been lying to myself, saying I don't love Ring Of Honor. But you're damn right, I love Ring Of Honor. But I think everyone out here has loved somebody or something in their life. And when you love something for twelve years, there's that little dip in that relationship. No matter what, no matter if you want it or not, your mind starts working against you. So I know that everybody here understands when I say: my mind was working against me.

But, but now, now I stand here the Michael Elgin that walked through that curtain, his faced said business and every ass in this ring was kicked! And this Thursday, this Thursday a dream comes true, 'cause I hop on a plane, I go to Japan and I compete in the G1 Climax. And as much as I want to come back home and say 'I told you so. I'm the best. I'm the G1 Climax Champion'-- Jay Lethal. You watch it. Because it might be a huge tournament. It might be a huge opportunity. But for me it's preparation to take my title back. So in one month's time when I come back, I walk through that curtain, you chant 'New Champion' and we leave chanting 'R-O-H! R-O-H!'."
