Armando Estrada: "Ladies and gentlemen, it is my privilege and honor to introduce to you, from the world-famous Guerrero wrestling family, the one and only Chavo Guerrero!"

[Chavo kommt unter Buhrufen zum Ring.]

Chavo Guerrero: "Thank you, Armando. It's great to be back here in ECW. You know the last time I was here I caused you a little bit of a... a controversy and you all know... Guerreros, we like controversy. [Buhrufe] You know, when I was home all I heard was people asking me 'Why, Chavo? How could you do that to CM Punk? Chavo, why?' Well, I tell you, why. Cause 2007 ended just a little early for me. I was injured at the hands of... the hands of Rey Mysterio. [Lautstarke Jubelrufe] You know, when I was home, I, I couldn’t walk, so all I did was sit there and watch TV. You know, what I was watching? I was watching the WWE. And particulary I was watching ECW and the... the emergence of CM Punk. [Wieder lautstarke Jubelrufe.] The... the 'future of WWE' is all I kept hearing people saying. Y'know, that made me sick. So I couldn't wait, I couldn't wait to come out here and -"

[ECW World Champion CM Punk kommt unter Jubel zum Ring.]

CM Punk: "That's it? Chavo, that's your big reason, because people were talking about me, because there is a tensionable buzz about CM Punk in the air?"

Chavo Guerrero: "I said, it's not that people were talking about you, it's what they're saying about you. That you're, you're the future of this, of the WWE. You know what? You're not the future of the WWE. You know what you are? You're nothing but a steppingstone. You're a steppingstone for me. And I've already been... I've already been a champion, a world champion and all these people know it. And in 2008, I'm gonna be a champion [zeigt auf Punks Titel] again."

CM Punk: "That sounds like a wonderful new year's resolution, Chavo, I gotta tell you."

Chavo Guerrero: "No no, it's not a resolution, it's a statement of fact."

CM Punk: "Oh, we're dealing in facts now, are we? Please, please, allow me to give you one of my own. I am nobody's steppingstone! [Jubel] In fact, I'm gonna tell you what I tell everybody else that parades out here: You wanna challenge me for my title? Chavo, I'm standing right in front of you." [Lauter Jubel]

Armando Estrada: "Hey, hey, hey, gentlemen. I need you to keep your composure, please. Chavo Guerrero, you make a valid claim, amigo, and if you want a ECW title shot, than you have to earn it by winning your match here later tonight. And Chavo, amigo, your opponent is this man, CM Punk!"
