[6.0] "As far an introduction promo goes, this was kind of underwhelming. It absolutely pales in comparison to Punk's first promo in AEW back in 2021. In this promo Mercedes really doesn't say anything, she thanks the fans for supporting her throughout her carrer and talked about her dreams that led her to accomplish great things. Really bland and generic stuff with a random shoutout to Eddie Guerrero as well. Maybe it was her first promo and she was emotional but, on a second watch, this was mid. Not bad, just mid. Hadn't been for the crowd, it would've been way worse."

[5.0] "Welp, this was as average as it could have got. I'm not a fan of Mercedes Mone (I'm more neutral towards her), but I usually though she was decent at promos. This promo however just didn't deliver excitement besides that entrance which got a massive pop (of course it did, it's Boston, Mercedes' hometown). Of course there were some cheap pop lines put in the promo, I'm guessing because even Mercedes knew it wasn't going to get much of a reaction. This promo wasn't really too good, but not the worst promo a debuting wrestler has made in AEW, it was just average for the most part. It's going to be interesting to see how Mercedes does in AEW, considering she's coming off a massive knee injury that could potentially have destroyed her mobility, who knows how it will go, only time will tell."

[7.0] "Copeland has never really resonated with me much as a promo, but he's also been a bit of a blindspot for everything I've watched in pro wrestling. So, that alone tempers my expectations for a blood feud between him and long-time partner Christian. I think the shoutouts to Abyss and Mick Foley were pretty cool and well done, but introducing his own foreign object feels a bit... tacky? The real meat on the bone here for me was unveiling a 40 year history, and I get the logic for why Copeland brings it up, due to Foley & Abyss's history working these types of matches."

[4.0] "Promos have always been the biggest weakness for Mercedes, and this was no exception. Very boilerplate, nothing you haven't heard before and at times didn't feel genuine. The entrance was good and she came out looking like a star, though it could have been better if her theme song wasn't awful, so to follow that up with a generic promo where she says nothing interesting was disappointing. You got the obligatory Eddie Guerrero reference, some backstory into how she always wanted to be a wrestler (which was the best part of the promo), an odd reason for why she signed with AEW (What revolution is she talking about? How is AEW the only place it can happen? ), and capped everything off by calling out a midcarder who she had a previous match with that very few people saw or even know what she's talking about. Meh. This wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't good. 4/10"

[5.0] "A good entrance with an incredibly bland and generic promo. Her reason for joining AEW was pretty pointless. Expected more out of Mone especially since the entire episode was hyped around her debut without announcing the same, in a manner similar to Punk's."

[7.0] "What a blast it was to watch Mercedes Moné debuting in AEW, really special moment, this is very similar to what they did in Rampage First Dance, a special show and an opening promo, the same structure. The content of the promo was very basic, nothing added very much to her character or made a huge impact, but the moment pays off, and I liked the way it was. Good starting point."

[8.0] "It was a very sentimental arrival for Monet, her promo was filled with passion and heartfelt emotions and people at the arena truly went along really well with her debut and promo. So far she has come up with good anticipation and her run in with Riho and Willow seemed fine for starters."

[7.0] "A good introduction for Mercedes Mone, aided by a thunderous crowd reaction. In terms of content, the promo was somewhat similar to Punk's 2021 AEW debut promo where the goal was essentially just to announce the arrival of that particular wrestler. Mone carried herself well and came off looking like a star. If you're a new fan and never saw her previous work as Sasha Banks, I think this promo would be enough to sell you on her."

[4.0] "This was ok but it was fairly generic. Entrance was really good but the promo itself was bland. It didn't actually accomplish anything. And her reasoning for being in aew was just fluffy nothings that didn't set her up for anything. This didn't necessarily need to be anything more, but honestly after that entrance it was skippable."

[10.0] "Recent history both with WWE and CM Punk (both good and bad) kind of puts this promo at a weird angle for me. But I can't deny how important this promo is in the grand scheme of things, and how much of a big deal it was for someone as easily recognized as Punk to just talk about stuff that was bothering him about the very company he was sitting in the arena of. It elevated the storyline between Punk and Cena, it showed how amazing Punk was on the mic, something he still proves to this day, and did wonders for so many indie talents that were hopeful to once be in a big promotion like WWE, as it paved the way for a change in who are the top guys and reality began bleeding into characters that at the time were so PG stained and unbelievable."

[10.0] "Yes, this promo really isn't that good. But also, it is *that* good. That doesn't make sense, but that's just how much of an anomaly this promo is. It shouldn't be good, it has so many reasons why its not good, but the delivery alone and just how legendary this promo has become, and just how easy it is to reference it with your friends at any time, I have to put it at a 10."

[7.0] "This is a hard promo to rate because what was really going on was Shawn Michaels going on a big ego trip surrendering the title instead of putting Bret over at Wrestlemania as he should have done. With that said this did show that whatever kind of character Shawn was playing, he always had the audience at the palm of his hands as you had people going from booing him to people (especially the women) crying in the audience. It's an iconic moment in Raw history for better or worse."

Of all the stupid booking ideas that the less perverted cancer of the wrestling industry with the name of Vince came up with, of which there are many, the feud over the letter T and the resulting match quite possibly takes the cake."

[9.0] "Bryan's mic skills are underrated specially as a heel. He brings passion he brings intensity and his character work is awsome. His Continental Classic promos are some of his best work and this promo right here belongs to that tier"

[9.0] "Objectively, this is a 7 at best, but seeing Jack Swagger botch his entrance, Todd Grisham's atrocious comment on Christian coming back and the crazy coincidence of Swagger mentioning the word "dad" and Christian being summoned, titantron malfunctioning, I can't help but to get a kick out of this. Christian is obviously a good promo, while Swagger isn't, but the coincidences and the unintentionally funny moments make this unforgettable."

[4.0] "Going through the database and actually kind of astonished at the reaction here. King's delivery here is so ridiculously bad to me. His look is so unrealistic, which really cements it all. Going from Pillman Sr., someone who really entrenched himself into reality, versus King's scripted and forced language just feels so fake. There's something here, but the execution was not."

[10.0] "Added this for good reason, it encapsulates what made "The New Daniel Bryan" such a special act. He brought modern meta-narrative sensibilities to the old-school heel in a very thrilling way unlike what any other mainstream act has done. Bryan perfectly displays rationality, hubris, ego, insecurity and vitriol. He's stumbling over his words, he's furious, he's sealing his own fate by denying the impact of the crowd 5 years after he found a similar glory to his opponent, this is my favourite promo of his and after the Continental Classic promos he did that is STIFF competition."
2814.03.2024
09:37
[10.0] "The clearest example of an epochal promo, from which the audience was furious and delighted. An unexpected age-old plot twist of the transition to the dark side of the greatest good man of wrestling and quite coolly he managed to build a structure of attacks and explain his transition to the dark side of the ring. wow. Then it was possible to throw food in the ring and it was more appropriate than ever. WCW then redefined itself."

[0.0] "[0.00/5.00]: Might as well be the worst promo of 2020s, it's a good thing both women were talented enough to give a match good enough to cover the retardation that was displayed here. Sasha Banks/Mercedes is no The Rock who can get away with wet insults because of a lack of any charisma and as a result, we get this clusterfuck, that's just plain insulting, repetitve and blatantly annoying, sure I get the "message" and the "themes" it wanted to have, wrestling's not too deep, this on the other hand is unfunny and cringe to watch."

[5.0] "This promo felt cringey when I watched it, apart from the delivery and how passinate Cody was. I'm being generous when I give it points, I know, but it's nice to show that Cody had enough weirdness in him to say this with a straight face (and it's nice to hear him reference Bruno Sammartino, yet I still don't know who the other guy he was talking about was. Let me know if you can.)"

[10.0] "The best promo ever, without a single doubt, this was so good it's really hard to tell if it's legit or not if you don't have the infos. All of the storyline was great but this part was like an out of character experiment, everything he said was felt by the crowd, every word he said, he meant it, he made us believe in all that by just being awesome"

[10.0] "The obsession with Saturn leaving has consumed Raven to the point where he unable to cope with. Can you blame him? Look who was left in his stable. Only Kidman was the one worth while, sorry Riggs but it's true. Raven's acting though goes over the top which really sells it."

[0.0] "This is a total failure, not because of the way they spoke the words, the deliveries were good, the segment without context was far from a fail, but what it meant was truly disgraceful. The Rock politicked himself into the main event of WrestleMania to wrestle Roman Reigns, completely ignoring the fact that Cody won the Royal Rumble and has been waiting a whole year for this match. Cody deserved it, and he was clearly uncomfortable here passing the torch to Dwayne. The fact that they reverted this segment proves what a total failure this was, such a bad decision that generated a whole movement and negative public reaction, that they needed to overthrow the decision and do something much better instead. This is an infamous segment and if this wasn't changed it would be one of the most disgusting things ever."

[10.0] "Very emotional promo where Punk confirms he'll miss the opportunity to main event WrestleMania. Sad promos are the easiest ones to do and to make it work, but I think he managed to put a different perspective here than what we are used to see, a perspective that in spite of his "bad luck" of missing a clear opportunity to accomplish his life goal, there's people out there suffering worst things, and it might not be incredibly inspiring to me, but I imagine what people that actually suffered, suffer or know someone that they love with really big problems thought. Punk was truly emotional and that's what makes the promo believable and heartfelt. Drew interrupted him and established himself as the biggest heel in WWE with very few words, and planted the seeds for their future rivalry."

[9.0] "After making Seth Rollins do one his best promo works of the last good years, CM Punk also brought the best of Drew McIntyre here, one of the best promos of his career, he was amazing... Just like the Seth promo this had a lot reality into it, and they just spoke their mind, very difficult to say what's a true feeling and what isn't, but the mic work was excellent, very focused on the person CM Punk and his flaws and hypocrisies."
4109.03.2024
10:40
[9.0] "After a controversial and somewhat underwhelming first promo by Punk he returned and quickly silenced any doubts or critics, this was excellent. I'm glad he addressed his previous promo right in the beginning, saying that right here he would have more time to speak his mind, and immediately giving hints the he will be more spicy in this one, and he was. Great promo, he talked about a lot of guys on the roster, planted many seeds for future rivalries, seeing him name-dropping the roster was awesome, that was the real first promo, and the first wasn't even bad, people just needed to let him cook."

02:54
[6.0] "This wasn't bad by any means but it was just there: they had some solid lines but it was pretty much it. It was pretty short and the lead up to those lines were all kinda weak as well. I didn't like all the WWE references, you should be focusing on elevating your company and not bury another one. And the brawl at the end was pretty lame, too. However the crowd was on fire and made the whole segment better."
4407.03.2024
23:42
[10.0] "I would take all the bad, uninspiring, badly written and - most importantly - fake promos that he was making up until his first reinvention, if I had a chance to listen to him being open and vulnerable like this, just one more time. The most underbooked and mistreated charakter in WWE history? Most likely. Him saying about being himself now in this promo and pulling it off, after decade of bad booking after bad booking is an absolute miracle. And just seconds after he finally opened up, we came back for the same bad booking ideas that kept him in the starting blocks, not being expanded any further. And then he died. Never having a chance to be Bray Wyatt ever again. Life's not unfair. Life is just cruel."

Austin's "For the last few weeks, I come out here and I sit here listen to you spend your little nursery rhymes about Jabroni Avenue or Know Your Role Boulevard, Jesus Christ, son, you better get your ass serious because Stone Cold Steve Austin is gonna take his ass to Philadelphia..check right into the Smackdown Hotel..roll right into room 3:16 and burn that son of a bitch TO THE GROUND! [8.0] "This was a great promo where Sting referred and questioned his own mortality a week after his father had passed away. Although this promo was rather short and simple, it felt real and genuine and helped set the stage for the match with the Young Bucks.. Good promo from Darby too, to set up Sting's promo."

[9.0] "A very good promo made great by a hot crowd at the peak of the #WeWantCody movement. Seth's reaction to the "Rocky sucks" chants must have been genuine, and the way he, Cody, and Drew played off of each other while retaining their understandable characters and motivations was so much fun to watch while still making sense within storyline."

[8.0] "Loved Drew's mocking of Punk at the start, his hater era is my favourite work he's ever done probably. Enjoyed Seth coming in and making this Bloodline storyline feel like Endgame too. They both used psychology really well, Drew getting in Punk's head and Seth getting in Drew's."

[10.0] "I wanted my comment to be just one word, but the rules don't allow. The truth is, Sting could be described in many ways, but I believe that one is enough and sums it all, from Surfer, to Wolfpack, to Joker, to Crow: Hero. Thank you, Sting."

[9.0] "This was a great introduction promo by Copeland where he talked about how happy he is to be in AEW and how many dream matches can come true now that he is here. He was also very passionate and delivered a heartfelt and emotional promo on Christian by saying how he wanted to put the band together for one last big concert. One last run as a team to fight guys like FTR or the Young Bucks. However Christian killed everything with three simple words: go fuck yourself. Three simple words that pefectly set-up their feud and made this segment 10 times better."

[10.0] "I mean this might be the greatest promo I've ever seen. A man knowing he's at the end of his road in this business, who's battled a personal hell no one loves to go through only days before, one last time putting his body on the line, and he's questioning it all, but he knows what has to be done. He knows what he's going to do. He knows that it's showtime. What a man, what a run, what a promo."

[10.0] "It's very easy to turn heel without saying a word: just low-blow or beat down your enemies. But it's much harder to turn face without saying a word, but Batista manages to do it in such a spectacular way. The thumbs up into a thumbs down? Mint. Triple H and Ric Flair's reaction? Mint. And the Batista bomb into the table? Mint. When it comes to listing WWE's greatest wrestlers during the Ruthless Aggression years, Dave Bautista surely deserves his place in the conversation."

[10.0] "If there was ever to be a promo to dethrone the Dewey promo, this is it. The whole run to The Final Showtime was absolute perfection and this promo told you that you were guaranteed to have an absolute spectacle on your hands come March 3rd. It's truly a shame that Sting's father passed so close to the end of his son's illustrious career, but there is a sun shining behind every cloud, and in this respect, it was the impetus to make the story be done right. 10/10."

[10.0] "Goodbye Stinger. This promo was the perfect way to end his career. Darby did his job in this promo which is not his strength. Loved Tony coming in at the end since he called so many of Sting's great matches. Crowd was hanging on every word Sting and Darby said. Shame that the PPV cut out and didn't show the whole thing. Thank you Sting!"

[] "After all the catharsis from the final match, this was such a fun cooldown to celebrate Sting. It was a beautiful night of celebration all the way through, and I think this was a good sendoff. It felt kind of strange, there wasn't some rah rah speech, but it felt authentic. Pretty fitting for Tony Schiavone to send it home, letting Sting bask in the glory for one final night alongside his sons."

[10.0] "One of my favorite promos of all time. Punk goes there and addresses everything. He is in touch with everything that is going around in WWE (LA Knight hype, Kevin Owens silly feud with Grayson and Theory, etc.). He also has some really clever insults and references thrown around. I was literally popping for every single guy that he was naming. This promo couldn't have been better and was the start of great promos leading to the Royal Rumble. It is a shame he got injured."

21:42
[10.0] "This promo is special because of how down-to-Earth it is. We don't hear from the wrestlers but rather the men behind the face paint. And because of how real this promo is, I can feel the intensity despite how slow they deliver each word. With the last lines Sting also confirms that he intends for this match to solidify his legacy in wrestling as truly great, definitely hyping up the match very nicely"
6804.03.2024
21:31
[10.0] "This was a simple promo but its delivery made it an instant classic. Sting questions his mortality after the passing of his father and says that time is catching up. However he promises that everything he has left in him, he's going to bring it to Revolution. Like I said: simple but Sting's delivery made it iconic. The timing, the realism, the passion and the look on his face made it simply wonderful. Bring into wrestling a real life situation such as a family member of yours passing away is not easy but Sting and Darby did a wonderful job and crafted what will probably go down as one of the best promos of the year."

Every word from Sting hung with importance and gravitas. It made me want to fight the Bucks for them. It might just be the best Sting promo of his life and it came two weeks before he retired."

I get the idea is that Albany is the people that "know her" and the pointing to the camera symbolizes the AEW fans en masse "don't know her". There's know follow up to this though at all. You either know her or you don't it seems. She tries to end with a catchphrase but she doesn't enunciate enough so it sounds like she says "violins" twice. I live twenty minutes away from this arena. If I had known this would have happened I feel I could have stopped it."

Since Hulk Hogan forced a short term heel turn on Shawn Michaels, this is the possible thing he could've done while being a heel. The Bret fake out is amazing. The crowd will barely let Shawn get a word in through booing and chanting "You screwed Bret! " but Shawn manages to deliver arguably his best promo ever."

Drew steals the show in this segment yet again by being this logical heel making great points as to why Cody should face Roman instead, making sure Drew's own match v Seth Rollins at WrestleMania is intact. Amazing stuff."

To know that grown men out there got so pissed at a TV Storyline (Which let's not forget is something people legitimately wanted) that they would send death threats to a person that wasn't involved in it at all because they can't wait a single week is something i simply can't associate with. as for the promo itself, In the moment, tbf Cody did look like an absolute goober (He literally pointed at Roman after winning the rumble), and i would like to question the legality of even transferring your Royal Rumble title shot. oh well, at least Cody tried to end racism in WWE once and for all with an all black main event, give that man a Nobel Peace Prize!"

When Danielson gets really fired up and angry, I don't think there are very many more captivating orators. Would've really liked to see a proper face-to-face sanctioned interview between the two, which seemingly doesn't happen much anymore."

You see it examined here, a lot of the same lines that were said in his AEW run, (which, this has been a staple of his career to reference his prior work, don't get me wrong, it just feels like it's being rehashed here). As someone who solely watches WWE through these promos now, McIntyre has been someone who's been fairly engaging. It doesn't really truly reach a higher gear for me as some of the other ratings would suggest, despite some pretty notable zingers from DrewMac."

Maybe stick to watching the friendly girls where they're all oh so goofy and oh so kooky and oh so kawaii! When considering that most of the Stardom roster think the crowd should still see them as babyfaces, and ignore the fact that they frequently behave in a somewhat unlikeable manner, it's great to see someone be an actual heel in Stardom. An actual heel who actually tries to get people to hate her and love the babyface even more (of course some of the people in the crowd start singing along with Mercedes, and by extension shitting on Mayu, for reasons best known to themselves). If Stardom had more of this stuff maybe they wouldn't be playing out to silent crowds of old men who sit in the front row with their arms crossed yawning."

His promo was well delivered, comical and just fit with the character he had been playing perfectly."

Now we have the reason for Rollins' involvement in the fight between Rhodes and the Bloodline : bring down the Bloodline once and for all. Moreover, maybe this promo planted seeds for a McIntyre's involvement too in this story : enjoy a weaken Rollin's with his tag team match in Night 1 of WM... and maybe get a revenge of Clash at the Castle by attacking the Bloodline in the Reigns vs Rhodes match. ****1/4"

Of course in this promo we have a refrences (not directly of course) from his run in AEW with "Brawl Out" and "Brawl In" situations and futher building of rivalry with Seth Rollins. Awesome staff."

[1.0] "When I was talking about this promo to a friend back when it aired, they replied "did he forget his scissors? " And that's what it comes down to, honestly; right down to the lack of a pop for a joke that requires insider knowledge, this was basically Nashs "scissors" promo to Sid Vicious, but for the new generation. Since his return to WWE, there's been something noticeably off about Punk's mic skills, and while marginally better than the soulless "I'm home" promo, it was still really bad from a general perspective, let alone from the heightened standards we expect from our favourite Pepsi drinker. And honestly, Phil? We all saw you make the "I punched Jack Perry" joke multiple times at the WrestleMania kickoff show too. The joke wasn't funny back in December, and forcing it down our throats repeatedly is just sad more than anything."

I love how he knows it's ironic to shame people for doing backstage fights. Shame the crowd didn't get it, he at least get's the crowd in the palm of his hand and gets the loudest reaction on the show no matter what. Anyways, Punk doesn't miss, even his weakest promos still deliver."

[10.0] "Short and succinct. Bryan Danielson points out his reasons why he doesn't respect Eddie Kingston - that he's unprofessional for blowing off interviews (despite Kingston having just won Best on Promos in the Observer Newsletter Awards), and that he wasted the potential he had on the independent circuit for many years until he got into AEW and eventually won his separate titles which he has combined into the Continental Crown. Perhaps it also shows Danielson's insecurities that Kingston didn't do what he did and be the top guy in Ring of Honor (he did last year though), then go to WWE and main event WrestleMania twice, before going to AEW, that Kingston got success a different way. And he's showing all this while going after Kingston's heroes, in this case Jun Akiyama. Danielson feels he is right for why he doesn't respect Kingston, but they're also things you can easily poke holes in and see why Kingston should be respected."

Seth saying "Some risks are worth taking" in the end gives an "Avengers: Endgame" like premise to the storyline"

Dude has been killing it for a while now and now he is making himself noticeable to the fans that didn't care or didn't notice his whole character arc since Clash at The Castle. Punk was keep playing his "good boy" schtick while Drew didn't hide his feelings towards Punk and was dead serious and clear with him."

[7.0] "This is what I needed from Seth Rollins. An excuse to insert himself into the Cody vs Bloodline story. Now this make sense from Rollins POV. He doesn't want The Bloodline to keep on its mob thing going forward and gain more power so they eventually come after the World Title, the Title he is willing to make the most prestigious by sacrificing his back, his knee and his general well being. He wants to prevent the disease before it happens. Now at least that part was justified and it's not just throwing Seth into the mix to make that feud even bigger. But what I specially liked about this promo his how damn good Seth is as a manipulator. His psychology is really underapreciated and not enough talked about. Drew McIntyre was excellent as usual and his part on trying to make Seth just focus on him, on RAW and the World Title as he claims he will do once he wins at WrestleMania was great, but the way Seth got Drew to think that maybe Seth was right about The Bloodline and what they could eventually do when WrestleMania is over. Now it leaves a question open: what will Drew do? Will he wait for his turn to take the Title and leave Seth to fight the Bloodline? Or will he attack Seth during Night 1 to make clear that now The Bloodline is his past and his present and future is Seth and the World Title?"

The best example of a justified heel trying to paint themselves as absolutely in the right, and it works in the context of ECW, and Mick Foley's character. This is the kind of shit that should be used to learn how to cut a promo."

[10.0] "The promo, made a lot of sense because how The Bloodline ruined many of Drew McIntyre moments, and Seth Rollins feels like it's his fault with Roman Reigns. This was a great segment you had a face and heel and there was logic. The Bloodline is trying to take over, and I can see Seth Rollins is building an army of men to take them down. But this was a great promo."
