Roman burying the title Rollins has is hilarious because nobody respects it but that dork but oh buddy what comes next is crazy. To have your top babyface basically come out and say "I'm just a big bitch and I know I cant do it right now" AND THEN TO HAVE THE FUCKING ROCK come in and get the spot he's been working all year to get back to from him? All time shit. This company rules"

[10.0] "I thought this was an epic and satisfying moment for Bayley. I'm a huge fan of her and I'm very glad for her to be getting a big WrestleMania match. The best part of this promo was of course when she revealed she could speak Japanese. It was shocking in a good way. I loved this segment."

[0.0] "This is insulting in several ways, first we have Roman Reigns burying Seth Rollins' brilliant work and effort over the last few months in making the new WHC something prestigious. Then comes the really revolting part, the biggest babyface in the company in the last 10 years (since D Bryan) giving up his title shot to a part-timer who hasn't had a real match since 2013. They managed to bury Cody, the Royal Rumble and even The Rock (who comes with a very Hulk Hogan vibe). My biggest problem is not seeing Roman vs. Rock (it's going to be a mediocre match at best), but not seeing Cody win the title his father didn't win. Why didn't they give the title to Randy at RR? The Rock will manage to ruin his legacy with this rubbish after stealing the spotlight from two great wrestlers. And to make matters worse, WWE definitely doesn't know how to build stars without becoming part-timers anymore. Every WM since 2012 has had a part-timer in the ME. And in the end this will be worse because unfortunately casuals will buy this PPV in droves to see this crap and here we go for another eternity with the most overrated superstar of the century with the main title"

[0.0] "Listen, I'm not a Cody Rhodes fan or anything, I don't even watch this guy's matches, but Lord Almighty is this STUPID! Seriously, how do you build your biggest storyline active for two whole years, makes the fans wait, pinch hints of the future conclusion and then throw a Hollywood megastar into the mix just because? This is utter disrespect to anyone who watches the product, be it a casual or a hardcore fan, and especially to Cody Rhodes, who literally just signed with WWE to win the titles at the Main Event of WrestleMania. This whole segment was just an abomination, Cody looks like a real loser and like he's about to burst into tears all the time, and the fact that he HANDLED his WrestleMania to Dwayne after pointing and yelling at Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble makes all of this even more dense and a bad joke."

[8.0] "Poor Bayley, having her WrestleMania storyline (and resultant moments) being overshadowed by Dwayne instead in synergy with everyone else. Whilst, let's be honest, it was a rehash of Batista's wordless face turn from the WrestleMania 21 build, Bayley and the rest of the women really made it look incredibly fresh. If it wasn't for what happened later in the night, everybody would be raving about this, but like I said, poor Bayley."

[4.0] "This promo was a lot better than it's getting credit for. Roman's promo was very good as he made good points on why Rhodes should choose to face him over Rollins. Rhodes starts his promo strong. Once he starts talking about what finishing the story was I realized what was happening. Disagree with the decision as the story just doesn't make sense but the crowd loved the Rock's return. Tough to judge because it was a well delivered promo but the story doesn't make sense."

[6.0] "The story went the right direction, and despite the lame and cringy stages like the feud against Shotzi, there was a constant build-up that led into this the right way. My only problem with this is I felt the betrayal so rushed. One week before this Bayley was all focused on challenging Rhea Ripley after winning the Rumble and she was about to do that on RAW before Nia Jax attacked Rhea and threatened Bayley. Maybe it's just me, but I needed to see Bayley being more aware of the true feelings of the rest of Damage CTRL before this, it all went too fast. The segment itself was good and, along with the Rumble victory, it gave Bayley an aura she lacked for a very long time. Io sold well her heel character and the Kabuki Warriors were on point as the henchwomen of the Champion. Just needed Bayley being more aware of the situation before finally turning face, but everything else was nicely done and it's helping Bayley a lot to regain that big status she once had."

[0.0] "This promo made absolutely no sense. Cody has been on a year long journey to finish his story and deserves to be the face of the company. The Rock swooped in at the last minute and is now taking his spot. CM Punk predicted this to the T with the Rock doing the same thing to him a decade ago."

[8.0] "Bayley finally confronted the rest of Damage CTRL who seemed to have pushed Bayley to the sidelines since a while since the addition of Asuka and Kairi. They kept laughing behind Bayley's back till she revealed she knew Japanese and was aware of what they had been scheming up."

[9.0] "Roman Reigns' promo was excellent and Cody handled it about as well as he could have. As much as it sucks to see Cody lose his spot and The Rock steal yet another Mania Main Event, this isn't new behavior from him. He did it at WM28 and WM29 and he's doing it again now at WM40. Having said that, this is the biggest match WWE can do and it is sure to draw the most money. Which at the end of the day, is more important than anyone's story"

[10.0] "A promo between the best female wrestlers in wwe history and of course a nostalgic and memorable promo for me now. The promo was very good and I give it 10 points"

[9.0] "First of all, a HUGe thank you to the Cagematch Team for adding this promo. I'm so happy there is now a space for discussion revolving around this killer segment because it has been completely looked over by most users in the event page. Arguably the best and most important face turn in WWE history for the women and it gets overshadowed by Dwayne pulling a Hulk Hogan. You have one of the longest simmering storylines (in recent memory) of a slow burn of Damage CTRL slowly turning their back on their leader Bayley, someone who hasn't been a face in over 4 years, and instead of Bayley getting the props she deserves for getting us to the finish line of this arc, all people want to talk about is one of the most poorly-executed bewildering segments to end what was going to be a great show. Bayley and Iyo hit all of the beats with how well they sold it not only in the delivery of their lines but in the non-verbal cues as well. She reminded us that as refreshing and fun her heel run has been, she is better than any woman in the history of this business when it comes to pulling your heartstrings and making you root for her against all odds as a babyface. Her puppyeyes when she caught them backstage was the most heartbreaking moment I've experienced in a storyline. The way her voice cracked as if she was on the verge of tearing up while confronting Iyo instantly grabbed the hearts of the crowd leading to loud Bayley chants. All this, while effectively showing that she has retained the lessons and skills of the 'heel Bayley', that although she is back to being a beloved babyface, she is no longer that Hugger girl with ponytails who wouldn't have been able to outsmart her would-be backstabbers by picking up Japanese or quickly hiding a pipe to defend herself. This is a new Bayley - no longer the naive underdog but a hardened veteran that still has the same soft spot now on the inside that made her so loveable when she first arrived on NXT. Excellent character work from Bayley with one of the most organic face turns, which is very difficult for a heel to pull off. They essentially did a Reverse Batista without it feeling contrived. Beautiful callbacks to Bayley and Iyo wearing the same attires when they debuted as Damage CTRL at SummerSlam. Without beating it over the head, it becomes clear upon reading between the lines that since Bayley separated from her former best friend Sasha Banks and got put on the shelf for a year, all she has wanted ever since is companionship and friendship. And when you realize that friendship was the underlying reason behind recruiting Iyo and Dakota from outside the company to form Damage CTRL, you are hit with the painful devastation of this betrayal. It's called Damage CTRL because this was her way of keeping in control the damage she had caused to her broken heart with her past mistakes. It was her way of coping with how the world treated her. And now that those same people she considered to be her support system no longer want her, it is time to rip the bandaid off and start anew. With her Royal Rumble win and this promo, Bayley is arguably on the cusp of the hottest run in her career and will be as over with the fans as her NXT run, only difference being she's now a babyface with grit and an edge. Her character development over the past few years has been fantastic and she has once again shown why she's the most underrated promo in women's wrestling. With one segment Bayley got more over than she ever has in over 6 years and that is a testament to why Bayley has a seat in the table amongst the all-time greats."

[10.0] "We saw an excellent and professional promo after a long time in the women's section. Bayley is really great and I enjoy what she has to offer."

[8.0] "This was a really good segment. Damage CTRL has had its ups and (mostly) downs since forming at SummerSlam 2022. With IYO as one of the champions, the Kabuki Warriors as the the tag team champions, and Bayley winning the Royal Rumble, it would make sense for her to challenge Rhea so they could have all the gold. But Asuka and Kairi since joining Damage CTRL have had open disdain for Bayley, in the process turning IYO against her as well. During the promo, the three of them were constantly laughing and making a mockery of what Bayley was saying. That is until Bayley reveals she knows some Japanese and confronts them about their behavior. Bayley made a good point about her and IYO being close before being attacked by Asuka and Kairi. During the beatdown, IYO was cheering them on but never got involved directly. Bayley challenging IYO for WrestleMania made sense after everything that happened, and there should be enough material to have some interesting twists and turns in the story. 8/10"

[9.0] "Thanks to Dwayne The CockBlock Johnson, this absolute banger of a segment has been completely overshadowed. Bayley as an Uber-Karen heel leading a stable of evil chick wrestlers while constantly shouting over Michael Cole has been great stuff, but her evolution back into a face, genuinely hurt and betrayed by her friends whose been burying her behind her back for weeks, feels completely natural and Bayleys ability to always shine as a baby face no matter what is a welcome breath of fresh air. It serves as a perfect contrast to Batistas turning on Evolution, as the Animal outgrew the stable where as here, the opposite is true and Damage CTRL has resolutely left their former leader behind. Bayley and the rest of Damage CTRL deserve all the props in the world for making this angle work."

[8.0] "I liked this segment a lot. The Damage Ctrl blow up has been coming for a while and I liked Bayley knowing and understanding that Damage Ctrl was making fun of her behind her back and finally doing something about it with her Rumble win. Also thought it was smart that Bayley had the hidden pipe."

[4.0] "Despite being on the roster for over a decade, Bayley still doesn't have a lot of confidence in her delivery, almost flubs a few lines, and a lot of this felt like someone reading from a script. The latter portion with Bayley getting emotional felt like bad soap opera acting. I did like the bit about Bayley having a pipe under the ring though, which shows that her character is smart and had enough foresight to predict the turn."

[8.0] "Hell yeah awesome segment that was overshadowed by the dumb political shit that happened on the same show. The crowd reacted exactly how they should have at each and every moment, even the backstage segment that happened earlier when Bayley was eavesdropping. That Japanese by Bayley though... Holy shit what a reaction. Truly emotional segment all around. Loved it and so pumped for the match"

[8.0] "I think at times there can be a bit of a belivability issue with Hangman Page, but despite that, he's able to get the message across in pretty great ways. It's hard to deny him after the duo star-making performance he and Swerve had in their TDM."

[8.0] "I think there's a few too many comedy moments for the sake of comedy (e.g., referencing Prince Nana buying weed off of a teenager feels a bit out of place for what Hangman's new ethos is). Despit that, it was incredibly entertaining. Despite my gripes, that's what AEW is -- pure authenticity."

[7.0] "It's made for a pretty common reaction video on social media, but this quick post-match promo gets exactly the point across for what the feud between Punk and himself was."

[8.0] "One of the biggest reasons Kurt is an instant Hall of Famer is that of all the people who could walk in to a ring with a sense of arrogance, he was the one who was unafraid to make himself look silly. This promo is legendary for that exact reason; an Angle classic."

[3.0] "Jake, that's now how casinos work. No wonder you were the man who took the pin in the match (well, that, and the fact the other guys all had contractual clauses preventing their losses). But, you know, it does get some credit for being insanely memorable, just not in a good way."

[3.0] "It's not a good promo by any stretch of the imagination, but by god, it's memorable and it's fucking hilarious. And hey, Curtis Axel did end up being somewhat of a player whilst Low Ki went and stiffed himself of the company."

[1.0] "Ok, I wouldn't say this is a zero promo, but damn it makes no sense. What's the logic behind it, Cody wins the rumble, Cody points at Roman for his opponent choice at Wrestlemania, and then Cody explains The Rock will face Roman? Why? Now we knew the Rock would be involved in someway, but why on earth does it have to take away from Cody's sportlight? It ruins Cody's whole image, I'm very curious what they're going to say? 2 low-end part-timers being the main event of wrestlemania, oh great."

[0.0] "Listen, I'm not going to come on here and give a zero to a promo that so effectively kills a company's biggest babyface and his literally week go rocket strap push with a back to back rumble win, something last done by arguably the company's biggest star ever, a promo that buries the other champ's entire reign because he's not Roman and has some injury issues, a promo that also buries the other championship that was made because no one could beat Roman, a promo that kills 2 years of build towards an all time great Mania moment, a promo that ends with a staredown we wanna see but not at this moment at all. I'm giving it a zero because of all those things Roman said was amazing heat generating and what he does best now, but the fact that they not only had Cody come out and basically shoot his entire build in the foot, but also had the audacity to act like this was what everyone wanted in the first place, and don't get me wrong we all might have egg on our face if they throw Cody into the match but we already had that kind of story 10 years ago with DB at Mania XXX. Just do the match and do Rock vs Roman at Summerslam I beg you I beg you."

[3.0] "Great promo from Roman and a good clap back to Seth running down his title on RAW. However, Cody comes out and delivers a complete wet fart of a promo and ruins all his credibility as a baby face and his momentum over the past 2 years since coming back to WWE. The Rock came out and just stared at Roman."

[0.0] "It's not that difficult to name a few different ways WWE could go instead of this. I was indifferent to the idea of setting up Rock vs Reigns, but now I'm absolutely against it. Why is The Rock so adamant on having this match at Wrestlemania not in Arabia or even Summerslam? It's the worst time ever for this. The segment was also terribly written. How could they make Rhodes say this "I'm coming for you, but not at Wrestlemania" bullcrap and hand over his long-awaited rematch to well past his prime, 51 year old Dwayne Johnson who I'm sure won't have a memorable match at this point. Not only that, but Rock vs Reigns would mean that Roman is going to be a champ even longer, because obviously Rock isn't going to dethrone him. Even it that happens, that would mean another part time world championship reign on a brand that needs a full time world champion. Roman's title reign got unbearable after WM 38, so what can I say about it in this very moment? WWE is about to make it official, I really hope for their change of heart...or at least make it a triple threat match, but it's not a satisfying option either. Horribly done. Freaking pointless crap"

[2.0] "In the moment WWE's plans for big matches at WrestleMania are thrown away because of some injury they do the biggest and stinkiest piece of shit booking possible. The good part for them is that shit is made of gold and is going to make them a lot of money and that's the only thing that matters, sadly. Remember the whole Universal / WWE Title unification? We wouldn't have that if they didn't put the WWE Title on Brock Lesnar because Roman got COVID. Now, because CM Punk got injured and the anticipated match against Seth Rollins is not going to happen they made up this whole crap of Rollins trying to manipulate Cody to challenge him and then this whole nonsense of a segment all to make the 51 year old guy who hasn't wrestled an actual match in nearly 11 years and is sweating like a pig and losing his breath after five minutes wrestle his cousin for the Title in the biggest match of the year because he is The Rock and his cousin is the overbooked Champion Roman Reigns. It's so curious how 10 years later we are again in that place where the designated challenger for the Title is booed to hell and the man that should be challenging for it is getting social media campaigns to put him in that match. The Rock is the new Batista and Cody is the new Bryan Danielson, but if the people don't fight as hard as they did back in the day, they're not going to change a damn thing. Not giving this promo a 0 because before Cody said he wasn't coming for Roman at WrestleMania the promo was being good and made sense. The Story is not becoming World Champion. The Story was winning the WWE Title, the title his father never had. And let's be serious, what's better? Becoming the second Champion of the workhorse title its champion desperately tries to make relevant by his words and by emotionally blackmail Cody into challenging him? Or be the one to end the reign of terror and be the Champion Roman Reigns will never be? What a lot of crap. Roman Reigns part before Cody entered was also pretty good, as he made a lot of good points, whether we like it or not."

[0.0] "Even if the choice for the storyline wasn't godawful (which it was), this promo somehow managed to make the 'Mania 39 finish even more stupid and redundant. The start of this promo wasn't bad. Roman doing his Tribal Chief thing is still fun camp even if the content of it isn't A-grade. But after that, everything falls off a cliff. Absolutely tone-deaf, this is the lowest creative point for a main storyline."

[] "Truly awful stuff despite good delivery from both Roman and Cody. Borderline a burial of Cody's entire story up to this point and a giant logic inconsistency. Oh, and to anyone saying this is the best match for the sake of money or that Cody isn't a draw/star, WWE is going to make ridiculous sums of money at WrestleMania with or without Dwayne. To sacrifice your biggest story and one of your biggest stars that people are invested in at the behest of an aging person that's beginning to enter the twilight of his relevance is exceptionally stupid and the defenses are utterly asinine. Especially so if it's true that this is all essentially an attempt to shift outrage from the Vince allegations. The Rock will likely be cheered no matter what, but that doesn't justify any of this. Just abysmal stuff all around."

[10.0] "an absolute all timer. legitimate venom coming off some of these words and with that it creates such a captivating promo of two men coming at each others throats as much as possible in a live setting. amazing watch"

[0.0] "There or no words that can describe my frustration and disappointment of this segment. I only assumed they were teasing us on RAW with Seth Rollins coming out to ask Cody to face him, but they fully decided to cuck Cody out of the main event spot. Cody Rhodes is one of the best talents on their roster and has gotten to the main event level all on his own after betting on himself, and they have decided to ruin not just this buildup after two years, but his credibility as well. It truly fells like anytime WWE puts on something that makes you think they are moving in the right decision after years of hating their own fans, they remind you that it doesn't matter who's running the show, the end result will let you down."

[0.0] "This segment began with a fantastic promo from Roman but after Cody comes to the ring the disaster happens. This was a middle finger to the face of fans who invested nearly 3 fucking years into Cody Rhodes story. a burial for American Nightmare character"

[4.0] "The promo done by Roman was amazing he said a couple of facts for Seth Rollins, but then, the Cody Rhodes part was complete nonsense, it felt completely contrived and you end up ruining TWO YEARS of building your own story just to give the place to someone else?"

[0.0] "One of the most baffling booking decisions I have ever seen. Everything about this was illogical, disrespectful, anger-inducing. It flies in the face of everything we should expect from WWE. There is no sense or logic to why Cody would do this. He looks like the biggest clown who has ever lived, in kayfabe, why should we even take this moron seriously? Spends two years endlessly saying that he must finish his story, before giving his title shot that HE earned to a part-timer who hasn't wrestled in 10 years. One of the worst booking decisions I can remember, they need to fix this urgently. This segment is just enraging really."

[0.0] "The guy blew his pec and WORKED. The whole promo wass so off-character and even got worse when Rock and Cody hugged it out. We all get WWE eventually wants to create an 'unique' moment between Rock-Reigns generating them good money. But the means do not really justify the ends here. I don't doubt we'll get bunch of staredowns between Rock and Reigns ending up electrifying the crowd and that is part of the show, part of the business but at the end of damn day I want to watch good wrestling and I doubt I'll find it there, I hope they prove me wrong. Cody could have squeezed the best match out of Reigns, concluding 2 years of such a personal journey. Shame. I don't want to reiterate what's been already said but WWE is excellent at trashing their own ideas & stuff (whether it be their own 'superstars' or 'PLEs' or whatever)."

[10.0] "Bryan Danielson is the greatest professional wrestler to ever walk this green earth. His in-ring skills are not up for debate. And Daniel Bryan's heel run, which started with this promo, proved that his character work is equally excellent. For five years, Daniel Bryan was the hottest babyface in the entire industry. The fans were so behind him that they hijacked the build for WrestleMania and refused to relent until their guy was given his rightful spot at the top. But his body wore down a bit too much, and his retirement speech was the most soul-crushing since Edge's five years prior. But then, above all odds, he didn't relent, and when the news came out that fateful Tuesday afternoon that he was cleared, the wrestling world cried tears of joy. If he was any other wrestler, he would be content to just coast the guaranteed pops for a year or two and just be happy to be here. But Bryan Danielson is not "any other wrestler". He didn't want to sit back and coast. The best heels in this day and age are the ones with a righteous sense of justification. And, well, nothing that Bryan said in this promo was in correct. He played his part as the despicable heel in the program with Kofi Kingston perfectly, and the promo that started Bryan's greatest character arc deserves all the credit."

[10.0] "Hands down, one of the greatest promos of all time, which only poured petrol onto a white-hot story (that, in true Vince McMahon fashion, was fumbled in spectacular fashion like Mark Sanchez into his own right guard). But even with the Summer of Punk proving itself an Indian summer, even with a couple of lines becoming ironic, a lot more became prescient and a lot more inspired a rebirth in the industry. There is simply no rating you can give the promo other than full marks; a reminder of Punk at his greatest."

[9.0] "Well, turns out that after a run of disastrous promos since his return, Punk can cut a decent promo after all. Whilst it did still lean on Cody reminding people that Dusty was his father, the tété-a-tété came out really good on screen. I originally gave this an 8 a couple of days after it aired, but man, given Rocky turned up on the TKO board just days later, and on SmackDown with a shovel a week after that, Punk was proven incredibly prescient when he described the CM Punk WrestleMania experience (because, after all, Rock did it to him). But the sad thing was, he wasn't talking about himself after all."

[] "The question now is how they going leading up to Elimination Chambers and Wrestlemania with Cody to say if this promo was a major disappointment that everyone is making. The actual first part of the promo was actually pretty good up to the "I'm coming for you, Roman Reigns... but not at WrestleMania." line that caused all the outrage. I honestly wouldn't mind is Cody finished his story at Elimination Chamber or in the course of the several weeks that Cody gets convinced to beat Reigns at MW."

[0.0] "This is, ladies and gentlemen, exactly how you bury one of, if not the most over babyface the WWE has got since John Cena. You make him lose last year due to shenanigans and interferences, you unnecessarily make him go through adversity by going through programmes with stars like Brock Lesnar, Shinsuke Nakamura, his involvement in the Judgement Day storyline which concluded at WarGames last year and being one of the very few people to win in history to win back to back Royal Rumble matches. Not only does the WWE make Cody Rhodes look like an idiot with this promo, they make Seth Rollins 8-month long hard work to make the WHC as prestigious and important as the Undisputed championship look like nothing, and bring Dwayne back in probably the only way it wouldn't make sense. If you're still excited for the Roman v Rock match, hope you enjoy what will definitely be Roman carrying a tired and rusty 50 year old Dwayne to a 30-40 minute spot fest of a match. If you'd ask me how I would book it, I'd rather have Cody v Roman at Mania 40, Dwayne costing Roman the match, Cody finally finishing the story, and Dwayne v Roman booking the Mania 41 main event a year prior, like the WWE did with Rock v Cena in 2011. Man, they did Cody Rhodes so dirty with this one."

[8.0] "Time goes by, but the wrestling community doesn't change, continuing to cry once a period about burying someone's status, character or story, even if later it turns out that their loud statements made no sense (greetings to the fans from Reddit who buried Asuka's career after losing to Charlotte, Carmella and Bliss, yeah). And everyone loves Wrestlemania XXX, but for sure no one remembers their emotions during the build-up, as well as the fact how many times the fans managed to bury Bryan as an A+ player. Wrestling is great, but the community is sometimes so unbearable, so weak-willed and forgetful, so short-tempered and prone to hyperbolization that I would like to regret that 15 years ago I came across a Punk match on TV, and not some MMA fight or something. By the way, speaking of Punk: "Oh wait! What's that in the distance? It's a much bigger superstar that hasn't been around in a VERY long time, comin' to take it all away from you.", this line from their joint promo with Cody perfectly demonstrates the fact that this has a plot background, and although I wouldn't bet all my money on such an option but it seems to me that Rhodes will still make himself felt in this storyline for whatever motive, but even if not... So what? Why does everyone pretend that the appearance of Rock is almost worse than Batista's stupid victory in RR? Why is everyone pretending that there were no teasers that would indicate that everything would be exactly like this? Why does everyone pretend that the first meeting of Rock and Roman in the same ring in many years was mercilessly destroyed by fans in the arena, and they reacted to it as the disappointment of the century? Maybe I imagined a loud reaction, maybe the "This is awesome" chants were a montage? Why does SmackDown have such an average rating if the matches were rated positively, and if everyone liked the heartbreaking segment with Bayley? Are you absolutely sure that this segment and these promos are worthy of 0, and do you understand in this case what 0 is? Cody, addressing Reigns, forgot the text, tried to get out, panicked, admitted that wrestling is fake, and then fell out of the ring, or what? It was a wonderful segment with a really controversial booking move, the expediency of which will be possible to speak with full confidence only in a few weeks. More than 40 people who non-ironically agree that it's 0 and not a point more is a disaster. The only thing that was buried was common sense."

[0.0] "Good fucking god. I've never seen so many things go wrong in the span of just 10 minutes. First of all, why would you have Roman just straight up bury Seth and his title. The WHC already feels like the number two belt, but in this promo, ROMAN JUST STRAIGHT UP FUCKING CALLS IT THE NUMBER TWO BELT, LIKE WHO WROTE THIS SHIT. But then after that, after completely trashing Seth and the WHC, Cody comes out and cuts a pretty great promo, before everything just goes to fucking shit. Cody says he wants to take everything from Roman, including his title.....but not at Wrestlemania. What? Why? The man who literally has won two separate Royal Rumbles, and has carried this company on his back for the past TWO YEARS to get to this moment, doesn't want to challenge the top champion on the biggest stage possible. Huh? Not only is this completely illogical and antithetical to Cody's character, but it makes his rumble win from literally LAST WEEK, completely pointless. So not only have we buried the WHC and made Cody look like a fucking idiot, we've also made the whole concept of the royal rumble completely fucking pointless. But then, somehow, by the grace of Lucifer himself, things get worse. Cody brings out the Rock, and now looks like even more of an idiot, by handing his Wrestlemania main event to a 51 YEAR OLD MAN WHO HASN'T HAD A PROPER WRESTLING MATCH IN 11 FUCKING YEARS, FOR A TITLE THAT HE LITERALLY SAID THAT HE WANTED TO TAKE FROM ROMAN. And it's not like he's gonna win anyway, so 2 months before Wrestlemania we already know who's winning the main event. Great, Roman's drawn out, boring title reign is gonna get even more drawn out and boring. God damn, this is fucking stupid. And the thing is, people have made the argument that this is actually good because the match will draw tons of money. I don't give a single fuck about how much money this, or any match, will draw. I just want to get invested in stories, and watch good wrestling, and The Rock vs Roman Reigns is a match that won't be good in any of those regards. I mean how do you even build to a match between those 2, they're never fucking on TV. I've seen this company make countless awful decisions in the past, but this tops them all. Actually, maybe not the Jinder WWE title run, but still, this is a very close second worst. They still have time to go back on their decision, even though a lot of damage has already been done, but I'm not that hopeful if I'm being completely honest. Utter garbage"

In the space of ten minutes, WWE managed to bury one of their world titles, their hottest babyface, their hottest story in years (with two years of build), their second-biggest PPV, and arguably the entirety of Monday Night Raw. On a week where WWE really did not need more bad publicity, Dwayne decided to put in action his own boardroom coup, and for what? The man hasn't got through a real match at WrestleMania without getting injured in twenty years. Nobody wants this match, nobody liked this promo. The McMahon sex trafficking scandal has put WWE in the most precarious position since Benoit, and the product needs to be firing on all cylinders if they want to survive. But for the sake of his own vanity, the Rock may well have killed WWE stone dead."

[0.0] "A completely indefensible move to take away Cody's WrestleMania main event just for him to meekly, pathetically hand it over to The Rock. Winning the Royal Rumble in back to back years means nothing. Finishing the story means nothing. I would have respected Rock more if he kicked Cody in the nuts rather than this ridiculous bullshit of hugging it out. Everything about this sucks."

When I saw this I thought it was a joke, but even if it was, it would be a joke that has gone too far because it has decided to destroy a man's entire story just for the sake of money. That said, it's pretty funny that the person in charge of impersonating Cody is The Rock, a guy who hasn't stepped foot in the ring in a long time... to give the most important match of the most important event... [0.0] "Congrats, Triple H. In one week, you made Seth Rollins look like the biggest slut in professional wrestling, begging Cody to face him at WM. Now, you cuck out your top babyface to a bald, 50 year old has-been in The Rock. Hardcore fans are pissed, casual fans aren't interested. You fucked up, brotha. What an awful decision and promo, We Want Cody."

[0.0] "Incredibly awful segment with absolutely zero sense of logic or reason. The decision to have Rhodes, a full-timer who has been carrying the company for two years while Reigns shows up less than once a month, relinquish his main event rematch in favor of The Rock who literally hasn't had a match in eight years (which was only like 20 seconds long, mind you) because.... Roman is a bad guy and needs a family member to put him in his place? Which was one of the main reasons Cody was so keen on beating Roman in the first place? What the fuck? It is clear that this decision was made with absolutely no consideration for the future or the implications of this match happening. What's next? Cody wins a title that he and Roman shit talked the entire promo because he has nothing else going for him now? Title unification later (which, again, is what started this whole mess in the beginning back in 2022)? This promo, the entire situation surrounding the Rock and Roman at Mania makes Cody look like a pushover, idiot chump who doesn't think anything through. Which is unfortunate because it's apparent that it wasn't Cody who wasn't thinking things through, but rather WWE's Creative team. Absolutely insane and downright disrespectful to Rhodes, both of their world titles, and, most importantly, to their FANS who have to sit through a product that is so out of touch to swerve away from the direction the fans wanted them to go. Holy fuck. It's so bad it made me leave a fucking Cagematch review I never do that dawg. Shit."

[0.0] "The lowest point in WWE since the shift in creative in summer 2022. Completely damaging and destructive promo for the ego of one wrestler who hasnt wrestled a real match in 11 years while sacrificing the top babyface of the last two years."

[] "The Rock has come full circle. He is now Hulk Hogan. He has politicked his way as a 50+ yr old man overshadowing younger, hotter talent to feed his massive, juiced-up ego."

[0.0] "What an incredible promo in all the wrong ways. First off, Cody looking like the ultimate bitch overshadows just how much Roman buried Seth Rollins and the World Heavyweight Title. I can only imagine the meeting for this promo and Cody just standing there while all these ideas to make him look bad wash over him. Anyways, Cody's whole reasoning makes no sense obviously. You can't make sense of it. And yet they still found the absolute dumbest way to set up Rock/Roman. A marvel in incompetence. Also, RIP Royal Rumble actually meaning anything."

[10.0] "Not only was this incredibly brave, it was a time where wrestling fans could put all their personal animosity for a character aside and cheer for a man. A man who they would boo almost every week but at the end of the day respected as a person."

[10.0] "Amazing stuff: Mjf is easily the best talker of this generation and one of the best talkers of all time and here delivered an incredible passionate and heartfelt promo where he talked about how he first met William Regal during a tryout with Wwe and how Regal said he was too young to get hired and that he wasn't a great wrestler via e-mail. That message destroyed Mjf but in 2023 the things has changed and he's now the best in the world and will become the next Aew World champion. Regal wasn't as calm as usual here, he was very angry and looked really dissapointed by Mjf's behaviour as he took many shortcuts to win matches and even put his hands on Tony Schiavone. Regal wanted Mjf to be where he is but Mjf let him down. Regal said that, compared to his journey to become a great wrestler, Mjf had it easy as he only recieved an e-mail while Regal had to fight grown men to survive and get in this buisness. The ending, then, was just perfect with Regal turning his back on Max, who had the chance to hit him with the ring but decided not to. Oustanding stuff, one of Aew's best segments ever."

[10.0] "For what Mox needed to convey, this was a home-run promo. His conviction is brilliant, the intensity is very clear, and you could honestly believe that this came from a place of legitimacy, as he would feel frustrated to have to sit in the shadow of CM Punk while holding the same title he carried through the pandemic, with an even higher regard the second time around. After defeating the likes of Tanahashi, Jericho, Rush, Takeshita, even Mance Warner, and then thoroughly trouncing the returning lineal champion, he could honestly be slightly forgiven for it, as he risked life and limb to defend what he truly believed was still the company's top prize on a regular basis."

[10.0] "Really good promo by the Miz. There was a lot of emotion in his voice. He played the crowd really well too."

[4.0] "It's interesting that all the shine of this promo is on Dusty Rhodes, which it should be. This promo was exactly what was wrong with WWE during this era. Triple H and Steph doing a long and drawn out promo using a burned out heel authority gimmick."

[8.0] "Very good promo between Roman and Jey. Very emotional, lots of passion and emotion in Jeys voice. He excels at promos against Reigns."

[10.0] "The most iconic promo that created the attitude era by proxy. Star making promo, awesome delivery during a historic matchup means this is a 5 star promo. The birth of Austin 3:16!"

[8.0] "A good promo between two of the very best on the mic. As always, this promo referenced Dusty. Both wrestlers drew parallels between their career and how Cody seems to be in a similar position as Punk was 10 years ago.This promo was heated but hey still seemed to part as friends."

[10.0] "This is A WRESTLER! This promo is wrestling. I was completely silent watching this, because Alex had me in the palm of his hand the whole time."

[10.0] "Arguably the most confusingly great promo I've ever heard in my life. None of it works, yet it endears itself in your brain, flaws and all. Bobby is not a talker and this segment shows why, but I can't lie it's a promo I go back to once in a while just to have a good chuckle."

[9.0] "They told the story of their careers magnificently. Even though WWE is a PG enviroment (unfortunately), Punk can still cut a great promo. Cody was Cody, he's improved on the mic tremendously. Got me hyped up for Royal Rumble even more"

[8.0] "Good segment. In the WWE environment, this kind of wrestling segments are rare, so is refreshing to see. Anyway, I think this segment in particular wasn't too good like the classics that Punk had in AEW with MJF or Eddie, but they told the story for the Rumble very well."

[10.0] "One of the best segments, if not the best promo segment since the road to mania 39. WWE had gone a bit stale since Mania but this was a great comeback."

[9.0] "Really awesome back and forth, and helps to have hype come back around Cody. After mania and the brock feud he kind of died down as naturally they were stalling for the rumble but this was good to see the hype come back. Punk was killer as usual."

[7.0] "There were some cool things about this promo, but in general it wasn't anything we haven't seen before. Will ever come the day when Cody has a feud, a story or anything that doesn't have to revolve around him being Dusty's son? He needs to fully being Cody Rhodes and step out of his father shadow. Like most of his promos against high caliber opponents they had to make it about some real life stuff that always involve Dusty being kind and supporting to the new talent but having to put that aside to beat his son in order to achieve their goals. The execution of the promo was great, but the idea is so overdone. Last night I discovered Punk made a reference to the time he was the guy that should've been WrestleMania main eventer in 2012-13 but The Rock returning took that away from him, now putting him in The Rock's position and Cody being the new Punk. I didn't catch that at first, but it was the best part of the promo without question now that I understand the context. The main problem this promo had is the lack of originality, but both Cody and Punk managed to succesfully make people care about it."

[8.0] "It is a bit concerning to me how every promo Cody does seems to revolve around his dad, to the point where I'm not sure if he even has a gimmick other than "Hey, remember my dad? ", but I thought the overall theme of this promo was pretty clever, playing up the backstories of both wrestlers and the parallels between them. You have the interesting role reversal of Cody being in the same position Punk was in in 2013 (right up to being on the latest WWE 2K cover), and Punk becoming the thing he used to complain about (the part-time legend coming in to take the spots of the full-time wrestlers). The promo had tension and felt heated without losing sight of the fact that they're still friends."

[10.0] "there was hype for this promo going into it, since it had been teased nearly a week in advance, but despite that it lived up to expectations and then some. right when you think when man has the upper hand, the other one retaliates, and it just escalates from there. perfectly built up anticipation towards the rumble."

[9.0] "Wow this felt really personal and both men had this intensity to them. It did a good job making it sound like a shoot by bringing in touches of reality. It also set up Punk as the heel for Cody to overcome in the royal rumble. Overall just really good stuff."

[10.0] "This was peak HBK. As short lived as it was, Shawn Michaels was highly entertaining as a heel and to be honest was carrying Raw on his back because of moments like this. The was funny as hell to watch when he was mimmicking Hogan brother, but still feels like he should be taken seriously when he snaps at the end."

[7.0] "I like the promo. I get the whole "wrestling is fake" argument with it where Matt admitted the Kane wedding wasn't real, but fans knew what was going on the moment Matt Hardy was fired from his WWE contract! This was one of the first major storylines that really blurred fiction with reality and Hardy comes off very passionate to me."

[] "So much heart, passion and power poured into this promo. Its truly bigger than wrestling. Sami Zayn isnt just a world class superstar of a wrestler, hes a man of faith, and most importantly a man of principles. This promo was bigger than wrestling. And you could tell he was just speaking from the heart. This was the most moving promo Ive seen in years."

[10.0] "Sheer intensity, pure emotion. One of Foley's greatest promos and one of the greatest promos delivered on WWE ECW ever. Chills"

[10.0] "It'll be an amazing day when we see these two dudes in the same promotion again. Roman and Dean have excellent chemistry, there's a reason The Shield were one of the greatest factions ever."

[1.0] "I will give Roman a single point for getting the lines out because I would've abandoned that shit and just winged it when I got out there. It's...it's some of the worst writing I've ever heard."

[10.0] "This wasn't even a promo, this was a real moment in Joe's life. One of the darkest moments, possibly. It's an incredibly brave thing he did"

[10.0] "EVERY SINGLE SOLITARY SEGMENT THIS MAN SAMI ZAYN IS IN IS BETTER BECAUSE HE IS IN IT! Also, I do want to highlight how much chemistry Rhea has with everyone she interacts with. Going back to this promo, it's easy to see how 2 or 3 months of TV was booked solely around the men's and women's roster interacting with her. She's very natural."

[10.0] "One of the best promos of 2023 with really reigniting Page and showing how good he can be when he gets out of the Elites shadow. Strickland and Nana played their roles well in it too and effectively sold the Texas Death Match."

[8.0] "A very good promo that did a lot for both Strickland and Page in elevating them while also successfully kicking off the early stages of their feud."

[10.0] "The best promo punk ever cut and probably a top 5 promo ever. It's mesmerisingly good, the way he leads everyone on and starts subtly hinting and slowly turning heel. It also kickstarter one of the best angles in wrestling history in the best possible way. The greatest thing about it though, is how fully it understands the character CM Punk was always meant to play, this dude's best work is as a smart, slimy and detestable heel and this promo encapsulates it."

[0.0] "To call this promo a piece of total shit would be an insult to shit. With the fact that Vince, A MAN, is basically objectifying Trish Stratus, A WOMAN, this promo has no legs to stand on. It WANTS to piss you off, and if it doesn't do that, it'll probably end up annoying you with its sexist undertones. This promo has no reason and no excuse to have ever been broadcasted. It's just another excuse to be as offensive as possible, and a flimsy excuse at that. Whoever wrote this promo does not deserve to have a job. They deserve to be fired immediately and blacklisted."

Those are the words of a woman who thinks that she's immune to criticism and that the world revolves around her. This is empirical evidence that a woman like Dixie Carter has no business getting involved in the professional wrestling industry. Her only contribution to wrestling was causing the initial downfall of TNA Wrestling; even going as far as to turn it into some sort of fascist dictatorship regime. Not helping was the fact that she brought in Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff to fuck things up even further. 0/10. L promo, L woman. Fuck you, Dixie. May God punish you in the worst way possible."

[9.0] "This is a very good promo from the great one, but it just isnt quite a ten for me personally. Check it out tho"

[10.0] "I am so glad that this promo was added to the site. Just them staring at each other for a long time would be enough for this promo to be great (granted their whole history with each other) and they did, but also exchanged words we have waited to come from their mouths for years. This will be a feud to remember and everyone is waiting for the moment they clash again, wrestlemania 40 or not. Hope cagematch also adds CM Punk's smackdown tribute to the troops promo and the promos with Drew and Cody."

[3.0] "Quack delivered this like he was the underpaid assistant teacher in a after school detention class giving a half-assed speech instead of the full actual detention because he wants to go home and skip the traffic before it gets too busy. I was impressed that he managed to play saying stuff like "Nazmaldun" with a straight face but good promo this wasn't."

[10.0] "This was QUINTESSENTIAL Roddy Piper. At his very best. He was the perfect villain for the time. He could get heat like no one else."

[10.0] "Say what you want about New Jack, he certainly knew how to get a reaction out of people back in the day. The eventual inclusion of a message that said something like the views of New Jack are not those of Smoky Mountain Wrestling management proves that in spades."

[2.0] "BAD. Whenever AEW gave Brandi screen time, let alone mic time, we were in for a rough time. Dan Lambert was greatly disliked in the community at this point but when pitted against Brandi he feels like a generational babyface."

[10.0] "Probably the most ruthless CM Punk promo in AEW and god it was great, dude put about 7 people on blast with a bunch of killer lines back to back that honestly could've been a set piece of their own promos. Moxley came out and had some good lines and they set up perhaps the two best AEW world title matches ever."

[4.0] "If this whole thing had been planned beforehand I would say this was a really sick promo. He got some great burns in on Kingston and Moxley and (and again, if this had been planned) got some nice heat on Page. But the fact is Punk went into business for himself and embarrassed one of his co-workers for no good reason which I thought was just really scummy."

[6.0] "Yes this whole segment may arguably be the embarrassing and disasterous debut in the history of wrestling, basically killing the Shockmaster character before he even had a chance to wrestle. But honestly it's so damn entertaining I can't help but love it a little bit."
