[8.0] "Only three things that make me not give this a 10 is Seth Rollins role in this story before he revealed on RAW why he wanted to fight The Bloodline. It was so forced and the only reason behind it was just making the Tag match to make this story look bigger; the fact this didn't hit me as much as other promos like the "Ucey" one, the trial of Sami Zayn or the Punk/Rollins/McIntyre tirade; and how Cody Rhodes, all of a sudden, changes his mind (actually, for the better, but everything they did with him prior to this event made him the dumbest guy in the world). Anything else was just perfect. The Rock's heel work as The Final Boss as been superb. The way he reads the room and adapts to the situation with so much ease is indescribable. He made the entire segment mean something, while Seth and Roman were mere supporters and Cody entered to take the spotlight as the hero and bring out the hyprocrisy of Dwayne."

[8.0] "A great segment that's taken a few notches down due to incosistencies within the whole thing. I don't think they needed to explained what happened at WM 39 and just talk about WrestleMania 40 and take a few hints and Solo turning on Jimmy seemed hypocritical considering Solo Sikoa himself has been on a losing streak so him kicking Jimmy out for "losing" makes no sense. Tama Tonga's debut was a shocker and I'm excited to see what he does."

[8.0] "This was the moment Adam Pearce went from the lamest and most boring GM in wrestling history to someone that actually makes himself respected. He was just a "yes man", doing anything Roman Reigns, Ronda or any big time player wanted and not showing any real leadership or personality as a boss until this, until he was sick and tired of Ronda doing whatever she wanted. Best thing Adam Pearce ever did as GM. After this, well, he is not as lame as he was before, but still isn't in the same authority level of guys like Teddy Long, Nick Aldis or William Regal."

[9.0] "Solo Sikoa needed this so much. He finally got a personality and he's not an NPC enforcer anymore. Now he's calling the shots as the loss of the one thing that made The Bloodline the greatest force in wrestling today had to mean something. He brings a friend of the family, the son of Haku, the Bullet Club OG Tama Tonga as his new ally in this new crusade, first getting rid of the weakest link of The Bloodline, his own brother Jimmy. The many paths this could take, the fact they managed to bring back to life a story that was getting stale since last year in such force, with the now confirmed signing of the "Samoan Werewolf" Jacob Fatu being an indicator of being another member of Solo's regime and the rumors of a civil war with a reunion of The Usos, a face turn for Roman, even adding Sami Zayn to the mix in another epic feud. I'm really hyped for this. Paul Heyman's performance here was amazing, his acting was great and the way his role is now turned to be a kidnapped and constantly threatened wiseman is so interesting. I'd love that WWE put this same level of creativity with other stories, because this is a complete masterpiece."

[10.0] "The start of the big story of Mania 40, never think a Press Conference would interest me, but it's real feeling, the presentation, the stars, and to show their willing to give the fans what they want puts this a perfect ten. Having Rock turned heel when he was such a boring babyface creating the greatest babyface of this gen with Cody, it's so fascinating to turn a bad decision to a king maker. Feeling like it's real with the intensity, the extras with the GMs and HHH, the unhinge anger and Cody winning the main audience is just incredible. Seth, Cody, Rock, and Roman did their role, and this help turn Wrestlemania 40 to one of the best Manias of all time. Incredible pivot and incredible emotion, made an incredible experience."

[10.0] "I consider it easily one of the best/most important segments of 2024. Not only it saved us from Rock vs. Roman singles match and from having to wait another year for Cody to finish his story, it also gave us "The Final Boss" version of The Rock and a shocking moment of him slapping Rhodes. I'm glad WWE managed to address media's reaction and decided to pivot - that way it turned from potentially unwatchable feud between two cousins (with Rock being a babyface) to a rivalry with insane dynamics, like Rock ruling everything and abusing his power, Cody forming an alliance with a former opponent in Seth, Roman getting more paranoid because of Rock taking the spotlight from him, etc. This is a must-watch segment for any WWE viewer/fan."

[10.0] "I remember when this segment first happened, I wasn't interested since I thought WWE was dead set on having The Rock vs Roman Reigns for the main event of WrestleMania. But, once I heard what went down, I decided to give it a watch. And, let me tell you, I'm so glad what I expected came out to be dead wrong. This segment is incredibly important to the Cody Rhodes/Roman Reigns (and The Rock) rivalry. The Rock pulling off a successful heel turn in the process, Cody Rhodes taking back giving up his spot for The Rock, the slap heard around the world, feeling like it's a legitimate argument and fight going on, the jabs at each other's family's, and Cody coming out saying "This, this right here is bullshit! " had me dying. Even if you took out the swearing (which I don't get why people think promos get praised for using curse words), this is a brilliant promo and immediately rejuvenated everyone's (including yours truly) interest in WrestleMania XL. So thank you Rock for not being selfish, as usual, and ended up making this feud bigger than it already was."

[10.0] "This was one of the most awaited segments ever. What happened in this segment determined whether WWE would abandon their 2 year story due to the Rock or continue it. The slap at the end lead to what was an incredible 2 months of Cody/Rollins v Rock and Roman."

[10.0] "The hype around this particular segment was astronomical. This was the deciding factor of wether WWE would fuck up a 2 year storyline or listen to all the backlash worldwide and reverse their decision. We all tuned in for that one decision, but did things take a massive fucking turn. Literally after so many years, I said a "HOLY FUCK" out loud when that slap happened. People may say that The Rock ain't a versatile actor, but goddamn did he raise the tension in the fucking room with his visible anger. A very strong start to one of the biggest storylines, and probably one of the best payoffs in professional wrestling. This was the promo where we got the first glimpse of the Final Boss, and started the whole Cody/Rock saga. Never did I think that I'd be so intrigued by a press conference but they did an awesome fucking job."

[7.0] "Honestly a good and entertaining little segment there, and even though I'm not a Tama Tonga fan, his debut was pure hype. This new Bloodline storyline started greatly and I can see it becoming one of the best things for WWE this year and maybe next year as well."

[0.0] "Ted DiBase Jr mentioning his childhood is the only interesting part about it, overall it was boring then and makes fatuity today. Barely described his turn on Legacy and why he is scummy/mean to the WWE Universe. He should had spinned it around saying it was you who took my dad away from me, it was you who made him buy all those expensive lavishing suits, it was you that took my childhood and now im gonna take yours and your adulthood to go with it. He went with a generic approach and delivered like someone in the back telling him to. Zero out of Zero."

[4.0] "I love this promo.... I mean it's so bad I can't help but find it hilarious. I have no idea what they was thinking in the WWE with this, but its pure gold for all the wrong reasons."

[7.0] "A lot of this seemed to just be references to different wrestlers on the promotion, not really saying anything beyond acknowledging their existence. The best stuff here is when he directly calls out Seth Rollins and lays out plans for the future."

[10.0] "I absolutely love that Sami took this opportunity to use The Judgement Day's domination of Monday Night Raw as an allegory for a much larger, more sinister real-world political force. It's subtle enough that you can take it at face value, and it'll still be effective, but it's definitely there and makes the promo so much stronger when viewed through that lens. His delivery is excellent, pure passion, and Rhea has great chemistry with him."
7212.04.2024
18:21
[5.0] "As much as I love Randy and Rhea, neither of them put their best foot forward here. Randy's motivations for wanting to take down the Bloodline are muddy and unclear, with his promo more concerned with hitting catchphrases and popping the crowd rather than furthering any angle. It gets a little better with Rhea's involvement, but it's very much your typical "the Judgement Day run Raw" promo we've heard 1000 times already."
7312.04.2024
18:14
[7.0] "Austin got in some solid heel work, but this was all about The Rock coming back, hitting all the classic catchphrases, and getting a huge pop from the crowd. How much you'll enjoy this will depend entirely on how sick you are of those classic Rock catchphrases (in my case, a little)."

[5.0] "A rather forgettable and unnecessary promo in AEW's first ever show. Bret Hart showed up to introudce the World title which was a very cool moment altough he messed up with his lines. Hangman Page came out but didn't get any promo time despite being the winner of the battle royal. MJF, instead, came out and delivered one of his weakest promos to this date. Really lame and boring schtick from him. We also got introduced to Jimmy Havoc and Jungle Boy who, alongside Hangman, beat up MJF. Bret Hart, then, showed to the fans the (beautiful) World title in a pretty underwhelming moment. The segment definitely didn't have to be that long altough it kind of served its purpose of introducing talents that we only saw in the pre-show. Still not good enough, though. 5/10"
7512.04.2024
18:12
[7.0] "Not Cody's finest work on the mic. I didn't get much out of all the mother stuff; it felt forced to me when Cody did it because he's a face and can't say anything too mean. It was livened up by Heyman's involvement towards the end, who could be cutting a promo where he reads the phone book and makes it entertaining."
7612.04.2024
18:12
[7.0] "This short promo here is way better than the one Max cut at Double or Nothing the month before. It's simple but well delivered with a couple of really funny lines. The mom line was hilarious and the videogame/virginity line with the camera cutting perfectly on the sad look of the guy in the crowd was just top notch. Textbook stuff, very simple schtick but it works in presenting MJF as the arrongant prick he is with the crowd already hating him. 7/10"

[10.0] "Coming after that wonderful war between Dustin and Cody, this promo serves as somewhat of reconciliation between the two brothers. Cody has left the ring and Dustin is taking off his boots, sign that he wants to retire. However Cody gets back in the ring and stops him. He gets a microphone and says that he needs a partner to fight the Young Bucks for Fight for the Fallen. But he doesn't needs a partner or a friend, he needs his older brother. And the two embrace with the crowd chanting Dusty. What a moment! It always sends shivers down my spine and makes tear up. Cody's delivery of that final line is also iconic. Amazing stuff. 10/10"

[10.0] "Moxley debuting in AEW back in 2019 was the true needle mover that, for me, established AEW as a real alternative for WWE. It proved that AEW wasn't just t-shirt company and made many people realize AEW was the place to go. Moxley could've gone anywhere he wanted, he had the resumate to do it but he decided to bet on this up-and-coming promotion. Moxley, in this promo, is fired up immediately after throwing Kenny Omega off the chips at DoN and cuts a tremendous promo that pretty much excels in everything. It's short and straight to the point and delivered with passion. He says that he is alive and that for the first time, after a very long time, he is breathing fresh air. He says that he came to AEW to reclaim his soul and change this buisness. He also declares war to anybody who will stand in his way or in AEW's way. The "We ain't reading history books, we write them" line is iconic and the final "This is what you call a Paradigm Shift" is simply perfect. In retrospective, knowing what Mox has done for the company since then, this was indeed a paradigm shift that changed the history of AEW and of professional wrestling in the last years. 10/10"

[8.0] "A little too short before Uso's interruption, but what's here is great. Drew's frustration with the cash-in comes across perfectly, and some of the lines he comes out with are hysterical. Bondage Undertaker was a particular highlight."

18:02
[10.0] "Punk and Drew may be the company's hottest rivalry right now; this is the perfect showcase. Two of the absolute best talkers in the game verbally spar with each other seemingly unscripted. The lines they come up with are great digs, genuinely hilarious at times, and sell the feud perfectly. Even Seth's involvement towards the end doesn't interrupt things, as he manages to help get the best out of the two and doesn't come out with anything particularly cringe-worthy."

[9.0] "Love the work, Drew's has shown how became one of WWE's best talkers, seeing the pivot foreshadowed makes it better after rewatching it, seeing where we end. It's just three of the greatest talker having a debate, and it was always fun to see where this end. The story of Drew, Seth, and Cody were all shown here and we didn't realize where it truly went."

[10.0] "Another god tier HBK promo where he pretty much becomes the biggest heel in the company. It's a really fun segment where he ends up disappearing when Undertaker arrives and then you get an over the top "KANE IS COMING" from Paul Bearer. Loving this feud."

[10.0] "If everything had gone right, this would still have been a goofy segment, but probably would've been forgotten fairly quickly. But Shockmaster tripping and falling through the wall brought this into the realm of legend. From the fall itself, to how it sent everything else off the rails - Davey Boy breaking character, to Sid refusing to break character, to even Ole cracking up on-mic at the beginning of the Shockmaster's lines, it has to be one of the most unintentionally hilarious segments ever in wrestling. It goes a long way to proving the idea that when wrestling is good it's good, and when it's bad it's still good. From any tangible metric, this was a complete failure, but because I can't think of many wrestling segments I've gotten more pure entertainment value from, I really can't justify giving it any lower rating."
8711.04.2024
18:51
[10.0] "With the promo for what would indeed turn out to be his final match, Regal accomplishes so much - not just promoting the match itself, but also reflecting on the successes and failures of his own career, setting up for his impending retirement, and strongly putting over his opponent as virtually unbeatable. As it goes on he goes through a range of emotions, from wistful reflection, to coping with his impossible task, to a final rally of determination, to finally accepting and even liking his fate. The line about how he needs "a miracle - and that's not coming to a faithless old villain like myself" gets me every time. An absolute masterclass and easily on my personal shortlist of all-time favorite promos."

[10.0] "William Regals brief time in FCW and later NXT led to some of the best work of his career. This promo prior to his last match with Cesaro was a perfect way to reflect on his career while also showing fire and speaking on how good of a competitor Cesaro was. One of his best."

[10.0] "Such an incredible promo, with genuinely the only negative part about this is that its related to one of the biggest dropped balls of all time. I remember watching his interview on Inside the Ropes about this promo, and how it's one thing to just shoot in a promo, but another to actually tie it all into story line. Paulie is quite literally one of the best of all time when it comes to something like this, and he does it beautifully here. Also, it's just really fun to see people get to say whatever they want to Vince without facing the consequences, because genuinely fuck him."
9310.04.2024
23:42
[9.0] "Ton of killer lines here, from the sex joke (5 minutes longer than you last in bed), to Bondage Undertaker, this promo was killer. Despite it's length, conveys all of McIntyre's emotions after losing his world title so quickly. I seriously can't wait for Drew McIntyre and CM Punk's rivalry when Punk's officially clear for in ring."
9410.04.2024
17:42
[10.0] "The Firefly Funhouse expanded wildly on what wrestling is and can be, and the fact that it came out of WWE of all places is both an incredible testament to how much good will there was for Bray's creativity and how aware the promotion was that it needed something new. There's a lot to critique and dissect in regards to The Fiend, Lord knows people have, but I think here, in this moment, Bray started something beautiful and fully, perfectly realized."

[7.0] "Drew McIntyre keeps on delivering his best character work and doesn't miss a beat. I love this whole story of his, his feud with Punk and Rollins and this promo just keeps me engaged to it. McIntyre is so pissed his long awaited moment was ruined by Punk and Bondage Undertaker (fucking genius) and he came out to crying about it and swearing some revenge on both men, specially Punk. I don't know about you, but I'd love to eventually see a Triple Threat of Punk, Drew and Rollins, and also a 1 on 1 match between Punk and McIntyre giving how things are happening."

[7.0] "This promo has the cadence of Gilbert Gottfried and the content of Danhausen, and it features the line: "I'm the first international model from Parts Unknown." It's rambly nonsense in an old school, fuck-it-we'll-do-it-live sort of way, but it's so funny and has enough insanity to it that I can forgive its repetition and padding near the end."

18:46
[2.0] "Ultimately this worked out in the end, which is why I won't give it a 0, but it still remains as maybe the biggest miscalculation HHH has had as a booker to date. There is some poisonous part of me that wants to give a slightly higher score because I think it lead to a more interesting story for Cody, but that's far too much credit to give this. I don't think I have anything else to say that you haven't already heard--this is a famously bad segment and deserves the ridicule its received."

[7.0] "Retrospectively, it aged well. In the zeitgeist of 2009, it was an ok promo. Few namedrops and pops, USA chants, a promo followed by a brawl. Nothing too spicy or inspiring but it can't go overly wrong. Perhaps not a paragon of good virtue but it was indeed Mr.McMahon who chose Drew. Being introduced by McMahon was often recognized as a blessing. It was just like that back in 2009 and it was like that ever since (as we saw with Theory). In the end he became the WHC. It was not the most memorable runs out there but it was something compared to his later 3MB fellows. Even if he was not as killer as he's today he had that cocky and agressive side to him which suited him decently."
10704.04.2024

[6.0] "A sweet promo that didn't do much, but it at least solidified the friendship between Randy Orton & Riddle into becoming RK-Bro, one of the best tag teams in a long while up until that point. It can also be helped by the fact that they won an electric Tag Team Triple Threat match earlier. It didn't do much, but it did what it was assigned to do well."

[10.0] "This surely sits on the Mount Rushmore of heel promos, and by god, Rock knew it. I mean, sure, on its face, it looks like a generic "your town and your sports team sucks, your rival town and their sports team rules", but what makes it truly special is that Sacramento is evidently still very sore about the Lakers being the beneficiary of officiating so dodgy it makes the English Premier League look downright clean. Which is why, with a shit-eating grin and like Babe Ruth, Rock calls his shot with the "hey, check this out" before delivering that final line to nuclear heat. The fact that the Kings never got as far to even get beat by the Lakers that May only adds to how iconic the promo is."

[6.0] "It's more than clear that Cryme Tyme and the "WWE Divas" was emblematic of a racist and sexist regime, but putting aside the racism of booking and television presentation, there is genuinely a funny moment here. JBL thanking the U.S. government for bailing out Wall Street is hilarious heel work, and then juxtaposed with JTG and Shad bringing in a bunch of women to JBL's limo? And Sgt. Slaughter? Sometimes, it's easy to look beyond some things with how funny JTG and Shad are here."

[10.0] ""You know they say all men are created equal. But you look at me and you look at Samoa Joe and you can see that statement is not true. See, normally if you go one on one with another wrestler, you got a 50-50 chance of winning. But I'm a genetic freak and I'm not normal. So you got a 25 per cent - at best - to beat me. And then you add Kurt Angle to the mix, your chances of winning drastically go down. You see, the three way at Sacrifice you got a 33 and 1/3 chance of winning. But I, I got a 66 and 2/3 chance of winning cause Kurt Angle knows he can't beat me and he's not even gonna try. So Samoa Joe, you take your 33 and 1/3 chance, minus my 25 per cent chance and you got an 8 and 1/3 chance of winning at Sacrifice. But then you take my 75 per cent chance of winning if it goes one on one and then add the 66 and 2/3 per cent chance, I got a 141 and 2/3 chance of winning at Sacrifice. See Joe, the numbers don't lie and they spell disaster for you at Sacrifice." I once typed this word for word in tenth grade at school on an antique typewriter."

I know in the past there have been other references, whether it's how during the DX reunion Shawn didn't swear or do anything sexual, or where Vince McMahon "AND THE PRODUCT OF MY SEMEN, MY SON SHANE! " vs Shawn Michaels and "God", or Vince McMahon drinking holy water."

But here's what brings it down: It's for a, no THE garbage wrestling promotion, CZW, it's for a match with "The Bank Addicted Drug Robber", and it would frankly be somewhat cringe inducing, if it wasn't so funny. So, while I obviously laugh whenever i see this promo, I can't help but think that 73 people gave it a 10 for the memes. Sorry, it's a 7. It's not lower, because you cannot deny the passion and energy from ZanyDig, and his goofy ahh stuttering, and "OH MY, AUGH" "JEEZUS"."

On its surface, its nothing we've not seen before; people have been calling CM Punk a self-serving hypocrite since before he set foot in ROH. I mean, yes, there is a small amount of winking at the scuttlebutt of Punk's fallout with Colt Cabana, but it isnt needed at all to follow along with this promo. But something happened to Punk in that his long hiatus from the ring made him bitter not just at one man or one company, but anyone who would surpass him on the stick or on the ring. And every moment since this promo has only proven Hangman right. Brawl Out. Banning people from Collision. Brawl In. And as I write this, Punk goes on a podcast and tells Ariel Helwani that by gum, paying wrestlers what they're worth just isnt good business sense! Like Mox, like MJF, like Eddie, Page read Punk to filth and Punk got so upset that someone would dare shoot on the Man Who Drops Pipe Bombs, apparently he even called in the lawyers. Like Mox said, fragile ego, fragile body, weak mind, weak spirit. And at the end of the day, you can't help but admit that Hangman was right all along."

This, along with the promos he's had with Punk after the Royal Rumble and infamous Rollins-Punk-Drew promo, is my favourite Drew McIntyre promo of all time. What I love about this promo so much was the touch of personal Drew got when he mentioned chasing his dreams and the cost it took for that, and drawing a parallel to what Becky had to go through as well."

Really liked the line about Cody respecting Roman but still hating his guts. Having the crowd point to the WrestleMania sign with him was a little hokey, but for Cody it works with how over he is. The Rock's surprise entrance was perfectly done. The crowd went nuts and the shot of Cody in the ring watching Rock was fantastic. Rock slowly walking up to Cody and whispering his threat to make Cody bleed before slinking away was a great setup to one of the best endings of an episode of Raw ever. 8/10"

It was like shoving a fat kid into a deep swimming pool and saying "just paddle, stupid". Cena and Reigns sling mud at each other with a load of insider terms and fourth-wall breaking quips. "See ya fourth wall! " still makes me cringe. It doesn't do anything to actually build to the match, all it does is make Roman look out of his depth. Doesn't make Cena look good that Roman beat him, either."

[9.0] "Even though I absolutely am not one for CM Punk's selachian aerial acrobatics as of late, on the other hand, Cody continues to prove why he is WWE's MVP and, if they're smart, they put the belt on him Sunday week. With the awful post-Rumble antics firmly in the rear-view mirror, I find myself pleasantly surprised that, for once, the Rock is contributing something positive to a storyline that on some level I still believe he is surplus to. But I understand WWE want to go for the big Avengers: Endgame feel for Mania this year, which is typified by the magnificent entrance Rock got befitting his new Final Boss gimmick. My worry that this could turn out to be WWE's Starrcade '97 moment is rapidly retreating, although the skies are still cloudy yet. Time will tell if WWE will manage to keep viewer interest in a way Marvel have struggled with since 2019, but the portents, for once, look good."

[9.0] "What a segment, one of the best promo battles of the year, specially by Punk and Drew, they went back and forth roasting each other, and I respect Drew so much more after this one, he's really making the most out of these storyline with Punk. Punk was unhinged here, a lot of interruptions and non-scripted stuff, that could easily expose Drew or put him in an uncomfortable situation, but Drew handled it pretty well, and never let the guard down, proving to be one of the best mic workers today, that was really hard to do, could easily go down like Cena vs Roman in 2017, Punk was pushing everything, big props to Drew. When Seth came it was clear that the angle shifted from a improvised back and forth to something more scripted and organized, and it wasn't on the same level, but still good and necessary to end the whole thing in a good way. I can't give it a perfect rating because of the level drop at the end, but still a phenomenal moment."

It didn't help that their big payoff match at Wrestlemania that year was a plain wrestling match and not a no dq of some kind. Stephanie McMahon one upping wrestlers was another eye rolling trope during this era. There were a lot of great things about WWE in 2009, HBK/Undertaker, Cena/Edge, Ricky Steamboat's comeback, Jericho/Rey, Christian returning and a lot more. The point being none of it involved the McMahons or Triple H."
