"Instead of Hulk Hogan coming to TNA, I took TNA to Hulk Hogan"

Mike Tenay: "Ladies and gentleman, at this time let me introduce to you the man, that at one week from tonight right here in the TNA Asylum finally gets his long awaited, his highly anticipated return match, his shot at the NWA World Heavyweight, his shot at AJ Styles. He's the former NWA World Heavyweight Champion and he's certainly the center of controvery, he's Jeff Jarrett.

Jeff Jarrett, one week from tonight, it's been four months in the making, you finally get the return match, you finally get another match at the World Heavyweight Champion. But before I talk with you about next Wednesdays match with AJ Styles, I've gotta ask you point blank, what was the story? What was the story behind that controversial confrontation, that we just witnessed in Japan between yourself and Hulk Hogan?"

Jeff Jarrett: "Mike, before I answer that question, let's got back about four months ago-- if you hold up just a few seconds, I've got a few important words to say. Let's go back a few months ago, June 11th 2003 right in this very ring. That's the night, that I lost the NWA World Heavyweight Title. My opponents didn't beat me that night. AJ Styles didn't beat me and Raven didn't beat me. One man and one man only beat me and that's Vince Russo.

So for the last four months Mike, you know it and I know it, that I told anybody, that would, that the first thing I was gonna do, was that I was gonna remove Russo from the occasion and then and only then was I gonna get my rematch. Well, the last four months Russo has thrown everything in the book at me. He threw Joe Legend. He threw Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels. Vince did try everything and it didn't work. I've overcome every obstacle.

And now four weeks ago Mike, I got my shot. It was said, that at October 22nd, next week Jeff Jarrett finally gets his rematch. Well two weeks ago Mike, Dusty Rhodes opened my mind and opened my eyes and opened my ears for one thing: That to become an icon in this business you have to be a self-absorbing son of a bitch. And that's exactly, what Dusty Rhodes opened my eyes to. Because in the drop of a head-- [‘Hogan'] In the drop of a head, Dusty Rhodes took my titleshot. Well, you know what? I said that night, that I was not gonna sit back and let things happen to me, that I was gonna take the action in my own hands. So what did I do? I got on the plane. I bought myself a ticket and I went to Tokyo, Japan. Hulk Hogan had his big homecoming and everybody knows, that Dusty—Everybody knows, that Dusty Rhodes is a self-serving son of a gun. Well, Hulk Hogan, the biggest icon in this business, is also the biggest self-absorbing son of the world.

So Mike, rumors were going around, that Hulk Hogan was negotiating with TNA and I knew I had my shot next week. But I was gonna be damned, if I was gonna let Hulk Hogan come into my backyard and take my titleshot, try to interrupt my plan. So what did I do? As the saying goes, instead of Hulk Hogan coming to TNA, I took TNA to Hulk Hogan.

That's exactly, what I did. I cruised 55.600 miles, half the way across the world, and I went in in his parade and I cracked his face all over the set. Because you know and I know—[‘We want Hogan'] Hulk Hogan's track record speaks for itself. It speaks for itself. When he comes into a place, he takes all the money, all the glory, all the belts and more importantly he takes all the credit.

Yeah, in the past, where Hulk Hogan went, the wrestling business went, but not anymore. You know it and I know it, that TNA is a rocketship ready to explode and I'll be damned if I let Hogan come in here and take my spot. This ain't gonna happen and Mike Tenay, you know between me and Hulk it goes a lot deeper. We've got a lot of personal issues, we've never seen eye to eye."

Mike Tenay: "Are you talking about Florida?"

Jeff Jarrett: "Mike Tenay, don't ever go there, don't ever bring that up. You understand me? Don't ever go there again. Never.

So with that being said. Next Wednesday night Jeff Jarrett is gonna get my world titleshot. And Vince Russo, Hulk Hogan, Dusty Rhodes, they--"
